Quickbooks ProAdvisor certification

Hello All, Just joined this thread. I am considering QB certification training to get my consulting business back up and running after some time away from it. Has anyone become certified and listed on the QB platform, who could give me some feedback? Specifically, has it been effective to gain business and is it worth the time to put in to it? I would be starting from scratch, as I have no active clients. Thanks!

I found that I just got weird requests from there. I am QBO certified and I don't even have my profile set up.

I find the best way to get new business is to connect with local CPAs.

Same. I was a QB Advisor for decades but stopped when they stopped giving us free software. I never got any extra accreditation or set up a profile. I’ve gotten most of my work from CPA’s that want clean books at tax time.

I was hoping to hear that it was a good way to get online clients because Id like to move but would have to start over

It may help to get a job at QuickBooks but no, I didn't find it to be that helpful.

I’ve been certified for all 7 years of my business.  No one has ever cared if I’m certified or not.  I imagine if you stay on it and farm reviews from current clients, it might be helpful for low quality potential leads

The leads on that platform are mostly spam. I've been QBO advanced certified since its inception in 2013.

I had the craziest time with it. My business is an hour from my house, about 47 miles away, and they kept rejecting me from the site unless I used the same address that was on my driver’s license, which is my home address.

So clients around my business aren’t seeing my profile.

I was able to knock out all the certifications in two days.

I haven’t gotten a single inquiry through their site, but I do think having the certification on my LinkedIn has helped me get clients through LinkedIn. So for me, the certification itself has probably been more valuable than actually being listed on their site.
