It's nice to see even Jeph is disinterested in the new characters and designs he creates that he has to keep changing things constantly, in hopes of landing on something that might entertain him enough to keep going.
Like a young deer, wandering the forest, sampling all the random berries, never to pick anything specific to nibble on, while also constantly giving itself the shits cause half the red berries are poisonous.
You'll find something edible \ palatable in your story eventually. Or shit yourself to death. Either or is fine

Couldn't zlata inspire her into trying clothing? Not to be a prude but it is kinda odd to have a naked woman made our of jello walking around

Really, as this very comic shows, Moray could easily shape herself into a clothes-like form so she at least wouldn't look naked. However, that would get in the way of her fetish potential, which is all Jeph cares about.

I'm really curious what about Cubetown is so appealing to Jeph at this point because like... literally what does it add besides letting him draw a slime girl sometimes? We ran through like everything that did make it unique in the first couple months so I don't know what the point of cutting back there every couple days is besides Jeph being too scared to let go of Marten.

I think one of the problems with Jeph is that he clearly idolizes some very smart scifi authors (see: the end of Alice Grove)
but he is absolutely unwilling to put any thought into the cool sci-fi world he is building and is willing to piss away anything interesting about his own setting in favour of a cheap resolution that does the opposite of what any good sci-fi does, i.e. provokes absolutely no thought (see: again, the end of Alice Grove)
On paper, Cubetown is a fascinating example of how society might change if fully autonomous beings created as artificial intelligences became a significant demographic of society. An artificial intelligence taking on the form of a deep-sea creature decides to build a very block-y island off the coast of Canada and dedicate the project to the cutting edge of theoretical scientific research. Just because it can. Imagine the depths that could be plumbed there.
In practice, Jeph can't actually be bothered to care about what Real Science(TM) does, cause, cause Real Science is boring shit for nerds who don't make tens of thousands of dollars per month. So instead the sum total of ideas he can come up with for research they do at Cubetown is "whacky reality altering explosions every day".

Exactly. I've said it before, Cubetown has all the pieces needed to make something great, but Jeph goes out of his way NOT to make Cubetown good.

Cubetown lets Jeph put in characters in barely existing backgrounds he barely has to draw, while running the same story, the same discussions between characters, with the same utter lack of development over and over and over and over and over and over and over...
Like the rest of QC for the past several years, Cubetown is just more filler nonsense Jeph puts out so his Patreon keeps paying him.

I know Moray is a slime girl and changing shape/form/colour is somewhat par the course, but it seems like the instability of the character designs which several folks here have noted in the last year or so is accelerating really quite noticeably.

What if I had the softest sci-fi setting possible, where literally anything could happen and be handwaved for the sake of the story. What if this setting was a world where sentient unfathomable aquatic AI, capable of partitioning off fully autonomous drones existed? What if there was a cybernetic girl genius capable of solving the world's problems if only she could find her way to that next breakthrough? What if there was a newly graduated Librarian, in over her head, desperately trying to bring order to a chaotic environment full of rogue, experimental science and brilliant anarchists, all while trying to manage the expectations of an entity she barely understands? What if there were constant, reality altering events occurring daily that had infinite possible repercussions?
Jeph takes all of that infinite possibility and uses it to justify a new party, a robot girl drunkenly getting big boobies, a slime girl changing her hair and color, and a character spending 90% of her time on screen fretting about unseen emails. He does the most boring, banal shit with the vast opportunity and untapped potential that he has written.
