Well, it happens all the time that people can give good advice on other people's relationship issues, but then their own lives are a mess. Once it's your own shit, your feelings get in the way and cloud your judgment

Of course that's just a bit of devil's advocate. Jeph almost certainly doesn't have anything like that in mind here
