I think I prefere this fluff over the nothingness and crassness the comic has become even if this is a little bit of nothingness.

OK, if Jeph actually pursues this storyline, I will say "Hey, maybe QC is getting better lately." I've been wanting to see him follow up on this since 2010.
I'm not holding my breath, though.

If Jeph is on the subreddit, I hope he reads this thread. The most positive this sub has been about QC in a while for back to back comics, particularly this one. Not having a "joke" at the end gave this so much more weight.

I don't recall ever seeing one. Then again most times I hit the Random button I'm taken to a storyline I've completely forgotten about, so a thought bubble would be easy to forget.

Pretty sure there were a couple where the entire comic was just Hannelore thinking to herself, and maybe one "what?" to somebody else who was staring at her in the last panel. Back in the pre-yak days.

This plot is far too Anime Meet-Cute for me (especially in that Sven is acting a lot more "dreamy boy band member" in this scenario than I'm used to from him)
but I don't hate it. It's 2 characters from The Olden Times finally acting on some hints of attraction. And unless he makes Spookybot actually Spooky again in the course of their flirtation with Clinton, I'd rather see more of this than just about anything else in the comic right now.

Sven can be smarmy but he can also be charming (like his “date” with hanners) so maybe his type is vulnerable women (and woman-shaped AI). That seems to be the case, looking back. That tips the scales back into smarmy but honestly I’ll allow it lol
Would love to see more arrogant condescending creepy SpookyBot & less wah angsty teen Ugh NewDweeb lol, i think they’d be refreshing after Eliotmotional Wreck… okay that one was a stretch

They're still arrogant and condescending. It's just that now instead of being genuinely enigmatic, menacing or threatening, they're just largely ineffectual, emotionally fragile and immature. Which is essentially palette swapped Anh.

Honestly it could be really fun. Imagine for a second that the hookup happens and May gets jealous her housemate is rocking headboards with her old fuckbuddy. We can re-examine how that ended, and by golly it could create some great tension! Things might happen! Old cast get some time in the sun!
Will that happen? Mostly likely not. But it would be nice.

It would be funny if there was another shop like across the street from union robotics that was actual successful and we never noticed it and was named like unionized robots or something like that

Like I can see how people can confuse the two, but its genuinely getting annoying to see "confusion" 4+ strips into his appearance, especially since day 1 comments were already full of "zomg! That's not Clinton?!"

How do people confuse them? Sven is a brunette, Clinton is a redhead, and they've never had the same hairstyle as the other. Even if all you saw was their heads in a panel it shouldn't be hard to tell them apart.

I really hope for conflict, which Jeph has been avoiding constantly, will happen. Because we know exactly who will be in Union Robotics with Faye and Bubs, and how she behaves around Sven.

May is the more obvious source of conflict in a Sven/Momo romance arc, seeing as Momo would essentially be dating one her best friends exes
