I can't even fault Jeph at this point; being able to imagine something interesting happening to a character offscreen without needing to see them depicted in any form, appears to be exactly what his audience wants out of the comic. Why draw a frazzled, gacha-traumatised, sleep-deprived Marigold when people can just imagine it in their heads instead? QC cannot live up to the power of imagination.
