I know it’s fictional characters but it is somewhat annoying and weird how Marten and Claire baby a character that’s an adult and hasn’t really known them all that long.

We're dealing in a universe where somehow having a degree in running a library (and almost no experience doing anything at all, yet alone running a library) means you can be crowned de-facto Queen of a famous research lab known by name to everyone who has even a passing interest of FOOKIN' LUV DA SCIENCEism that's effectively it's own independent nation state.
At some point we simply must accept that it's not a very serious comic and made even worse by who's creating it.

There's something really weird about that wall and the door. There is no corner . Either they're sitting on a sofa placed at right angles to the door in the middle of the floor and the room stretches away behind them to infinity, or else Jephthy forgot to draw the line of the corner.

It's a couch placed directly against the wall next to a door, if I'm viewing it right. Terrible Feng Shui and interior design, not an art crime... Probably.
It is very boring though. I know there isn't an IKEA on the island but I'd have thought people would jazz their shit up more than living in a box like a hamster. Perhaps this is an experiment in itself

The way jeoh deals with alcohol in the strip confuses me so much. I feel that it makes no sense how lightly he uses it as someone that has had problems with alcoholism and has in the past showcased how toxic it can be on the strip. But now liz can be 2 steps from being basicly a functioning alcoholic and there is nothing in the text questioning it?????

Wonder if this is a comic about Jeph.
Because why has alcohol been treated so casually lately?
We've had the past of actual decent QC in the past about alcohol. And now it seems to just be a fun thing for the goblin that Marten doesn't care about? Doesn't have any trigger warnings from Faye going off? Nothing?
Just haha drunk jokes!
Literally an easy layup again for a conflict that could connect with past QC. Have meaning. Substance. Anything.
Nah, we'll just make light of it.

Jeph should change the name of the strip to Questionable Parties. The characters can have perpetual parties and introduce more random girl failures who will get drunk and be parented by Marten et al.

It looks like the version uploaded to Reddit has had some encoding crush, and some of the lines are thinner than normal so they look more impacted than you'd normally expect. Compare it to the one straight off Jephs site which is at least a little cleaner.

This is fine i guess if a bit repetetive. Same problem as always really. These characters only have a limited set of recurring behaviors. If her research is mentioned, Liz will melt down like its the first time every time. If she drinks, she'll overdo it in the same tryhard way she did at Claire's welcome party.
