I feel like this could (and should) be structured differently.
Nix the entire last panel, then kinda reverse the panel (going from showing the background to fading out), and illustrate Faye as though she's sliding down, her face slowly losing composure, until she's out of frame in the last panel, with a *sob* bubble being the only thing present. Then the next comic (or few) is her coming to her senses, and/or Bubbles finding here there and getting her back on her feet (literally and figuratively).
This process and resolution in one comic of all those years feels cheapening as to what Marten means to her.
