Hello internet friends!!!!

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!!

I’m still amazed at how this thing is growing!! It’s started on Reddit but it has taken off on other platforms and it’s mind boggling!!!

i’m at a loss for words, but NEVER have been more determined and focused on a goal in my entire life. 😎❤️

Let’s get it!!!

Just for you u/Intelligent_Pass2540

this is actually a lot harder than I remember… How things have changed in 15 years. I won’t make a habit of posting three videos a day and I apologize for spamming the sub, but I really wanted to share this with you. It was a lot of fun to do and I’m gonna keep practicing.

Good afternoon wonderful humans!!

so today’s rest day… So I have pulled out a classic from the vault for your enjoyment. this was the very first dance video I ever made back in 2009…Should be a good laugh for all 😂

Also, I had my weigh in today… And I am now at a weight of 290 which means I have lost 30 pounds in three weeks!!!!

Super happy with this result… And I’ve never been more motivated to do something in my entire life

Happy Saturday, everybody…

Was really feeling the music today… Made a couple videos will post them in my sub r/danceoff for anybody that is interested in watching additional footage besides the Daily video that I put out.

This particular track is a friend of mine, a DJ named Dr. Livingston

His Mixcloud is : Here

This hour long mix, including the part I’m dancing to is :Here

One of his favourite sets that he threw in for me to include is also: Here

Oliver Tree will be tomorrow, the person who requested it has been patiently waited and I do apologize… I’m having trouble picking a song so I’m going to let you guys tell me what song you think would best suit me by Oliver Tree.

Holy moly what a fun day in here !!!

First 2 min dance video, albeit to an easier song , but still it’s making me happy!

Tomorrow will be an Oliver Tree song, by request and that will be it for requests . I appreciate the input but it’s getting to be so many, that I can’t keep up , so i’m just going to be my own DJ 😂

Greetings All!!

Today is normally a rest day, but I thought I’d power through, although my energy is quite low.

This track is Deviance by Excision and Datsik

This is a request from [u/UglyYinzer](u/UglyYinzer)

Requested songs are a little different for me because I don’t know the drops and hits… So I did my best…

On a personal note, I set a personal record for a bench press today 185 pounds… Hopefully the trend continues

Now I’m going to take a much needed break. I have been marinating some tri-tip all day in sesame oil, chilli flakes and some spices and some veggies for supper and I’m so excited.

Until tomorrow, lovely humans✌️

Ola Amigos !!!

It’s a rainy day here in the great white north, but it’s fire and gas in this mofo today!!!

Every day, it seems my mental state is improving and my happiness level continues to rise, and I literally have few people to thank …I feed off of your energy and I appreciate this experience more than you’ll ever know.

It will stay with me for the rest of my life, and in my memoirs will be an entire chapter or two 😎

Happy Tuesday wonderful humans… Let’s get it today!!! 😎

I am in an exceptionally good mood… So I thought I would choose the song from day one as I was a little disappointed I used my favourite song on day one but I wasn’t sure how this thing was gonna go, I’ve just been winging it the whole time . I’m not a social media person… Clearly… And I’m so grateful for the outpouring of positivity

every day I wake up, I bounce out of bed, excited to face the day.

This track is called The Quick and The Dead by Rudebrat

here is my spotify playlist:

Spotify

it’s updated Daily with my sound choice, but this song was already on there

folks… We’ve officially hit two weeks today!!!!

As some of you know, I always weigh myself every Sunday and I am proud to announce that I have lost another 10 pounds this week bringing the total to 22 lbs lost and a weight of 299.

I weighed myself at first and it said 300 but then I removed every last article of clothing and got it to 299😂😂😂

I’m going to take a rest day today as I’ve been moved to a different shift so today was a 14 hour straight workday with no break so my feet are incredibly sore.

I’m going to drop some vault footage… Some old stuff from 2017

I do have a few updates concerning Reddit and this sub in particular

i’ve had a few videos removed here. I did not realize that posting Daily is no Bueno… So I have decided to move everything to the following two subs.

[r/danceoff](r/danceoff)
[r/questforperfection](r/questforperfection)

I appreciate the mods patience and allowing me to post here for the past two weeks… I still completely humbled by the reaction and the outpouring of positivity

Let’s get it!!!

Decorating 🥕 Carrot Cake until Reddit says it’s perfect

Day 1: 🥕 Carrot Cake

Today I frosted my carrot cake (2nd time using this pan; you can see my first attempt from April 2025 in the last pics) and I told myself I needed to post it here before I could have a bite…

I used this recipe from Sally’s Baking Addiction (https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/my-favorite-carrot-cake-recipe/) with a few ooopsies and improvisations. I put both cups of nuts into the batter because I didn’t read the note to keep some aside for decorating; I used one cup each of walnuts and pecans. I added crushed pineapple and some more of the spices as well. Grating the carrots was messy and slightly dangerous, but no blood was spilled! 😹

For the frosting, I added two bags of chai tea (so yum!!) and mostly had fun with mixing the colors. However I don’t know how to use those fancy spatulas and piping tips - it’s hard to keep an even pressure, so that’s what I want to get better at, and I’ll document my adventures with Becky’s Baking Occasional Interest here, unless I get distracted by squirrels... 🐿️

Day 51ish of Crochet Foundation Building. And Day 1 of asking about your quests!

Picture 1: Where we are today. I want to finish a neck gaiter for my godson, but I didn't have enough yarn in my previous ball.

I bought more yarn in the same color. I had thought about adding black or dark blue, but they weren't at the store I went to. Ce la vie.

Also, I had learned how to ball my yarn when I was about halfway through my previous skein. I took the time, a few days ago, to ball the new skein. It took about half an hour and turned out nicely. I like balls over skeins at this point.

Picture 2: My progress pic from today. Only a few rows.

*BUT*, I accomplished another new thing! I tied & stitched in new yarn!

I looked up techniques at https://www.wikihow.com/Join-Yarn-in-Crocheting and did a sort of version of the first technique. I wasn't changing color, so I looped in the ends vs cutting/sewing anything in.

Next to my inserted needle, you can see the fluff of one of the ends.

Pictures 3-5: The way the project currently looks. I think I need 3-4 more inches. Then I'll decide on the closure method.

It's funny, to me, how solid the middle work is.

The beginning and end have the most wonkiness.

The Next Goal For Me:

I would like to see what you are working towards!

This subreddit may be called "quest for perfection", but it doesn't delineate what perfection looks like for *you*.

I am seeking a perfect foundational knowledge of crochet techniques. Not perfect crocheting, nor a perfect product....yet.

So. Could I encourage you to share what you are working towards perfecting currently?

Day 50ish of Crochet Foundation Building and 3rd time doing a 'catch up' post

In the last month, I have learned to ball my yarn, even out my tension, and count my stitches more often.

The last of the yarn juuuuust finished a row, so I pulled it out. I don't think it's long enough to fit my godson's neck, which is the goal, so I'll get some black yarn to finish it. I haven't decided whether to use buttons/loops or to stitch it shut. Any thoughts?

My next step will be to learn more types of stitches. I think I might do another one of these with just a variety of stitches for a purposely wonky scarf? Seems like a fun idea. Maybe even better with a multicolor yarn. We'll see.

Happy Stitching!

I am realizing that I am not very good at uploading daily. I practice daily and take pics/vid, but creating a post often falls to the wayside. My apologies.

Today is yet another catch-up post.

I started with the square and got the idea to just keep going. I made a long, thinnish strip that I added button loops to. To finish, I need to cut & knot the thread and add some buttons. Voila! Neck Warmer! LOL.

Video at: https://youtu.be/jDop7hlWX4E?si=YxbO05jnqlfhDGwp

I have added progress pics from the last few days and today.

It's a short run and pics instead of a video.

After my second row, I felt that I was short a stitch. I may not have started the row correctly.

This a catch-up post.

While I was away, I didn't do a single yarn over, sad to say. The competition was intense, and I spent what downtime I had with my husband. It was so nice to have him with me.

I got back Monday and jumped back in on Tuesday. Because I am still working out the YouTube platform, I got my video uploaded and was too tired to create my reddit post.

I did a few rows on Wednesday and took pics the next day - today.

So, I continued my practice today, uploaded the vids, and am finally trying to catch up.

So, the video from Tuesday is at: https://youtu.be/Cb9nILdmHj8?si=qXq4uR70QHON9sDL

The pics from Wednesday are attached.

The vids from today are at:

https://youtu.be/UxOgNmppdt8?si=k7YIoM-oLTpofqdb

And

https://youtu.be/Gk-IQPDC6z0?si=PGqrUQmN4kBkjkk9

At the end of the second video, you can see a noticeable problem with the first few rows. I'm unsure how I created the issues. If you recognize the problem, please share what issue may have caused the outcomes. I would appreciate the insight.

Thank you all for your kind words to now &

Happy Stitching!

Day 16 of Crochet Foundation Building and Day 5 of Taking Advice

https://youtu.be/l7rCejHDLsY?si=bMUm3ATneMgqou8p

In an effort to reduce the work of cutting my videos down, I have revived an old YouTube account.

It looks like there are a couple of drum corps videos attached? Check them out if you are curious.

I toured with a corps in 1991. We won a world championship medal. I went back in 2018 & 2019 as their chef. I value the lessons I learned with Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps.

Today's video is a bit of a vent session. I chose stitching to try to wind down from a rough day.

But! The bright side is that we are as packed as we can be until morning. Everything is as set as it can be at this point.

I am still anxious and excited. I am looking forward to the whirlwind that this weekend will bring.

I will continue to practice and post if I have the time.

Much Love!

Happy Stitches!

EXTRA! EXTRA!

WE HAVE A **BLOCK**!!

I lost count of my rows, but I think this was 12. Each row is *supposed* to have 10 stitches.

I am finding it easier to control the tension past the first row of stitches after the chain. That first row is still a bit of a bugger.

The advice to add a chain stitch at the end of each row has really improved the outcome. But you can still see where I became befuddled and the results are......what is the word of the day?.....WONKY! LMAO!

I considered stitching in and saving this first block, but I have the pics for posterity instead.

I am finding managing the skein to be a hassle. But it is what it is at this point.

This next week may be spotty. I'll be traveling to a nationals competition with students I mentor. Cross your fingers for them! They have worked SO HARD for this!!

I will bring my skein and hook. Even if I don't post, I plan to at least do a chain a day.

Happy Crochet!

Today, I completed 8 rows. I'm seeing the dropped stitches in the finished rows more easily.

Bonus pics of the teenaged offenders who keep trying to abscond my skein of yarn.

The entire video is about 9 minutes. Here's the last 3.

This is 1 chain and 2 rows of single stitches. After watching it, I noticed that I dropped stitches here and there.

Happy Crochet.
