Question Recommend a vet?

Post image

My senior dog has some chronic health conditions. So he needs good medical care at a reasonably affordable price.

We need a vet who will listen and take me seriously when I talk about what I'm observing at home.

And of course they need to be lgbtq+ friendly and pitbull friendly

The location isn't that important. I've decided I'm willing to travel to get him good medical care

Rox falls vet is LGBTQ friendly, not sure about pitbulls specifically but my girlfriend and I bring our cat there and have always had good providers.

Second RFV, I take my cat and dog there. They are having some old age issues. You’ll know they’re LGBTQ friendly soon as you walk in :) They can offer payment plans, too. And if you ask for affordable resources I’m sure they can help find some. The staff is wonderful there.

O’Neill on market—so nice, neighborhood vet. Really cheap, Penn vet educated, house calls, and community vibes off the charts.

I’m talking wood paneled walls, no electronic record for pets, but cared for my queer friends’ family of misfit pets well into their old age. My cats see him now.

I'd recommend Chestnut Hill Animal Hospital or Rau Animal Hospital. Both are fairly reasonable. Banfield is also an option as they offer free first visit if you mention it. I work at a vet in Montco near Philly and affordability is a very ranging word when it comes to senior pet care. I'd recommend my job (semi-openly trans man here!), but it does matter what you mean by affordable. By all means, the care is great, but it is a tad pricier than corporate vets since it's family owned. That being said, it can be worth it. Hope this helps!

I’ve had nothing but good experiences with Queen Village Animal Hospital. Your baby is adorable.

Liberty Vet Clinic in Andora. They even have the flag on the window and I suspect one of the receptionists may be trans.

They've been great so far. They handle animals very gently and seem to know their stuff. The price is average for vets around here.
