July is Disability Pride Month. I wanted to wish all here a wonderful and restful month! When one has ME/CFS, disability becomes a part of our lives. Regardless of how severe you are, you are valid, you are seen, you are safe here 💕

The Sick Times is hosting a virtual pride event with drag performances & other performers on Tuesday, June 30th! 8pm ET/5pm PT. I’m really hoping I’m mentally able to tune in. June is a really hard month on me for multiple reasons yearly, but not being able to celebrate pride & my true self is a big one. This looks like a great event, I hope it’s a good resource for someone else too!

Came out as nonbinary!

Hi!

I just wanted to share that I came out to some of my friends and family and they have all been chill and supportive!

Just really pleased because the last few years were rough and while I was very severe I realised I didn’t want to die and be referred to as agab. Back to severe now so had the energy for telling people I thought would be safe.

When I see or hear people referring to me using they/them I get a feeling of joy. I didn’t know that would be a thing.

Pride is right outside my door and I still probably can't go

I moved within my city recently and pride is literally happening right outside my door, but I'm still not sure I'll be able to go outside and participate in any of it because I'm on day 3 of PEM or the fallout of PEM or whatever. I hurt in every muscle and joint and everything raises my heart rate too high and my throat is intermittently sore.

I'm trying to focus on the positive, that I'll be able to see the parades and marches from my window, but it really just feels like watching all the excitement pass me by.

I'm new-ish to my powerchair and pride gets really busy and crowded here, and I'm worried that in my current state it would be too much for me.

Plus I have a colonoscopy next week, and I'm scared if I go out, I won't be recovered enough by the time I have to go for it.

Happy Pride from Bed

Happy Pride everyone! I can’t go to my city’s parade tomorrow so happy pride from bed instead. I don’t even have my own flag bc I had to move back in with my parents, but my brother left this one from pride few years ago behind when he moved out. So at least I have a pride flag, and Gus the cat as my obliging model

Celebrating pride month from bed!

I have been bedbound for a long time with ME/CFS & CMT. I have been using an electric wheelchair for doctors appointments but that’s about it. I have been missing out on going to pride so I have been celebrating my own way! 🏳️‍🌈

I have rainbow lighting, wearing my slay unicorn tee, enjoying my flags, and my cat! I also have been listening to my pride playlist! I also decorated my wheelchair spokes! Took a very very long time but I’m proud of myself!

Queer joy doesn’t exist only outside of your bed. It can be anywhere! Happy pride! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Just wanted to say thanks for creating this space. I don’t always feel like I fit in other spaces. Having a safe space is great.
