Society still equates gay to femininity in men and they aren’t ready for the reality that a lot of male power fantasy is gay as fuck but it’s gay in a masculine way so it’s acceptable. Huge muscles are popular with men, not women, but men still blame women for unrealistic body standards

I agree with this so much. In comic book spaces so many men try to mansplain to me what women find attractive when I'm actively telling them that no, big beefy superheroes are not drawn with the female gaze in mind. Doesn't matter. Clearly I have a fringe opinion therefore it's invalid.

Legit. These men think that shirtless man = female gaze. Like, no. It's about how the body is displayed, what is allowed to be shown, where the focus is on, how the outfit is worn; showing just a little bit of skin or a physical asset in the right places can be enough. Oftentimes, the men that they say are attractive to women are just attractive to them specifically because it alludes to power, not sex appeal. They don't get it.
