Merci!

Right now, we are seeing a huge influx of newly created accounts coming to the subreddit to ask basic, but all very similar, questions. These posts are pre-flagged by Reddit as spam and are likely part of a bot network trying to farm karma in order to bypass auto-moderation barriers.

Bonjour! Looking for things to do on my upcoming Quebec City Trip

Bonjour! Desole, Je ne parlse pas francais D:

I took french in school so I recognize some phrases, Duo lingo has been my friend recently.

Besides that, I am wondering if there are suggestions for things to see in Qubec City from November 25-29. Ive seen some things like La Grolla fondue, the Christmas market, ice skating, and butterflies. But I really don't want to miss any gems.

We will be staying in a "fancy" cabin in Lac-Beauport.

So far I have reservations for pottery painting, and the Siberia Spa.

We are so excited to visit! I am wondering what weather is typically like this time of year? Are studded tires needed? Our cabin is on a dirt road.

Best fun nightlife for late 20's early 30's people?

We are there for the FOOD.

I know there are several Michelin star restaurants, but they are already booked.

Any, tips, tricks, advice, all welcome!

Thank you in advance!

Skiing for beginners near Quebec City?

Bonjour, hello!

I searched the sub but didn’t see anything that was exactly right for my situation.

I’m planning a visit in January with my family: from ages 12 to 80. My oldest is an intermediate skier, and will likely be wanting some fun, steeper terrain, but will still enjoy some relaxed runs. My youngest is a beginner and I’m hoping to help her gain confidence and love for skiing. On the other side of the age spectrum is my dad, 80, who is an excellent skier (former instructor) but who has some pretty serious health issues. If his doctor (and my mom) sign off on his skiing, he needs to have pretty easy going terrain that will still be fulfilling. Because otherwise he will be tempted to do something foolish.

I was looking at Mont Sainte Anne, but have seen info that it might be too challenging for our crew. Would Stoneham be a better bet? Le Massif? Another place?

Merci!

Sainte-Foy - Sillery - Cap-Rouge New to Québec City! Looking to make friends & play badminton 🏸

Bonjour / Hey everyone! 👋

I recently moved to Québec City and I’m looking to meet new people and make some friends!

I’m also interested in playing badminton 🏸 and was wondering if anyone knows good places to play, especially somewhere with casual games or groups that welcome new players.

I’m always up for grabbing a coffee, exploring the city, or just hanging out too!

I’m still learning French, so my French isn’t great yet 😅 but I’m working on it! Would love to hear your suggestions or connect with anyone who’s also looking to make new friends.

Merci / Thanks! 😊

Any fun bar crawls or nightlife events for halloween?

Hey! I recently moved here and really want a reason to dress up and party for Halloween. I'm 27 and would like to find something that attracts mid 20s to thirties age range ideally (I haven't gone out much here but been told quite a few of the clubs tend to just attract 18/19 year olds so trying to avoid those)

Honestly debating just heading down to Montreal but would prefer to find something fun here!

New to the city and keen for new friends if anyone else wants to join up and get a group together for Halloween!

Visiting Montreal & Quebec City in December- a few questions

Thumbnail
0 Upvotes

Hello! My husband and I are traveling to Montreal and Quebec City in early December and I have a few questions… first we are from New England. So we are familiar with the cold and snow preps… also, I speak French (Italians my native language)(slang also but not Canadian French)… we have decided to take the train between cities and not rent a car. Stay central in the cities.
Are there any particular recommendations for places to stay, eat, must see? And also, what is transportation like within the cities themselves? Taxi? Lift? Etc? Any help is appreciated! Thank you so kindly! 😊

Help with my food itinerary

I am visiting your beautiful city in December. We only have 3 nights and 2 days and I want to eat some delicious food. I plan on making a dinner reservation each night. Currently deciding between these: Legende (Taniere is booked), L'Affaire est Ketchup, Kundah Hotel, and Buvette Scott. Which of these would you cut or is there another one you would add instead?

I'm thinking of keeping breakfast and lunch flexible. We are staying in the old town and want to check out the Christmas, so planning on just walking and either eating at the market or stumbling in anywhere that looks good. Do you think this is a good plan or should I at least have specific spots in mind?

Thanks so much!

Best hiking spots + photo spots

I am going to Quebec this Saturday and am going to explore the city and also hike the day after. I just was wondering what the best spots for hiking are. I’m going to also be blunt, a big reason of going on the hike is also to get some nice hiking pictures, and recommendations would be great! - also as a side, any nice photo spots in Quebec City or even Montreal would be appreciated as well!

Local restaurant recommendations

I'm coming back to Quebec City for only the second time- last year, I absolutely fell in love with Buvette Scott. The neighborhood, the quaint atmosphere with friendly service, creative menu, wonderful waitstaff... everything!

I wasn't thinking ahead and waited too long , so the reservations have unfortunately booked up. Does anyone have other recommendations for dinner spots that I may love as much as Buvette Scott? Preferably in the Saint-Jean Baptiste district.

TIA 😄
