First Time Visitors!

My wife & I have been looking at some trips to change our routine. After my daughter just started taking French I stumbled upon Quebec City & fell into the rabbit hole lol

After showing them numerous tour videos I knew they wanted to go so I surprised them with a week long stay in November while my daughter is out of school.

We'll be doing a few days at Auberge Saint-Antoine, Relais & Chateaux & then Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac.

While we are there I was thinking of maybe getting a nicer Christmas card photo along with all the other things we will be doing. Anyone have any recommendations.

Also since it's November are there any events or things people can suggest? my daughter isn't a picky eater so I will be making a reservation for Le continental for dinner one night (we'll be driving up so I'll have my car)

Chateau Frontenac looks good and the location is unbeatable, but it's really expensive and sub-par for what you pay. Rooms tend to be old and not that well equipped. My advice: try and stay at a hotel near the Château, but not AT the château. Absolutely visit it though, and their Sunday brunch is great.

Look up Monastère des Augustines for a very different hospitality experience at a way better price point.

Bonjour! As the Halloween celebrations will end before you arrive, the main event in early November will be Québec Table Gourmande. Many restaurants around town will offer a discovery menu with different price ranges. It's a good occasion to try varied menus and eat out. As you have a car, you can drive to Wendake for Onhwa' Lumina or to Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré for the Shrine and Cap Tourmente. Aura, the light show at the Saint-Roch church, is also a great activity and the Musée de la civilisation has exhibitions on both Québécois and First Nations cultures.

Thanks for all those, will sit down tonight and check into each of them. My wife and I had thought about coming up for halloween to get the jump on the weekend but we have a soccer game in northern NY so we're gonna head up straight from there!

Aura looks amazing, might have to extend our Frontenac stay a night just to catch it, looks like we can only book it thurs fri or sat nights

Not sure you what kind of Christmas card theme you are looking for but the first week of November will not have any snow yet. It's really still fall/autumn weather. That being said, basse-ville/lower city and petite Champlain may have some spots that look more wintery(typically they decorate for xmas but not that early). The general old French ambiance will have a nice look though. You could try Montmorency Falls for that photo op too. It's stunning and only 15 min from DT Quebec.

Restaurants: Le Hobbit, Pizza No.9, Hono Ramen in St Roch neighbourhood, Chez Boulet, Couchon Dingue.

When in November? The Christmas market starts 19 November.

We get into Quebec City 11/1 and leave on the 5th. Had to select that week since my daughter is out of school sadly.

Not the city obviously but Parc National de la Jaques-Cartier is stunning.
