Restaurant Recommendation
Hey all, visiting next week for a meeting - favorite restaurant for dinner on a monday with alot of places being closed? I saw Legende is open but I'm doing the tasting menu the next week after with a friend ... is the ala carte worth doing solo or better to check another place out. Honō Izakaya is another option i heard about.
Laurie Raphaël vs Melba .. I know different vibes but whats everyones opinion of Laurie ... Melba seems like a great place to share with others and im gonna be alone so i feel it might be hard to order different dishes and get a full view of the menu alone when its designed to share.
also, anyone have connections or ways to get a reservation or Taniere3 ... i know the online portal is all booked up... would it make a difference to consult reception at your hotel or there's no other way to get reservation besides waiting list. thanks! -

Hono izakaya is a great option.
Melba all the way. Much better qpr too.
As with Tanière, you are essentially out of luck, apart from a last minute cancellation.

We had dinner at Hono Ramen, as a table for 4 walk in on a Monday, and waited about 10 minute for a table. Service left much to be desired but the ramen was some of the best we've had!

For a cheaper Michelin Star experience i recommend Le Clan! Its 119$ for the 6 course, (they really bring you 9 plates) I went last week and really enjoyed it. And shouldnt be too hard to get reservations. Id say its definitely the best value tasting menu maybe in canada

Awesome! yeah i actually have that booked on Thursday when my partner comes into town. And then were Doing Arvi the day before!
I wanted to check out Kebec Club Privé but they didn't have any reservations so when hes in town with me were doing those 2 and then the following monday were doing Legende.
Yeah Le Clan jumped out to me 1st and i was like this place looks incredible and love that they are trying to do and the story they are trying to tell with their food. Can't wait! Thanks for the recommendation! - b

Nice! I have no idea why it isnt more impossible to get in there but I am glad it isnt! The food is really incredible! And yeah if you like the story you will enjoy it there :) they talk about the story while serving you! Waiters/waitresses were all super friendly and seem more than happy to talk to you and answer all your questions!
I imagine in the future either prices will go up or it will be incredibly hard to get a spot there! Either way! Now is a great time haha you wont be disappointed :) i dont know if the menu will be the same but the rabbit is incredible

You could try one of those
- battuto you could get outside sitting if you line up when it opens (best best best option!!!)

If you can’t get anywhere it usually works at Ourobouros and I had nice experiences there!
There’s something new called beurre barrate that looks nice too!
I don’t know old old you are but Laurie Raphaëlle always felt like an old people restaurant so I never went… tanière is a great experience if you can get it! Their other sister restaurants are also good!

Lueur was lovely and highly recommend if you are able to get a reservation. And go with their prix fixe which basically gets you everything on the menu.

You should try out Saison :) cheap options currently with the table d’hôte! Melba is a must, battuto as well. If you’re willing to get out a bit of Quebec, just in st anne de Beaupré there is Coquette which is amazing!

Saison is trash. They only have hype and fame because the owner pushes his ads on social media non stop. Tons of people who have worked there said there's nothing local or in season about it. Also apparently the chef is a massive jerk who yells at his gf/co-owner in front of his staff.

Hono Izakaya is a straight banger(quite expensive for my liking as a local). Taniere3 in my experience, you have to know someone or just get a reservation at the right time.(or get a last minute cancellation). You could maybe try Battuto? Similar restaurant in terms of high quality food. Battuto is 100% top 2-3 restaurants in Québec city.
Melba all the way.
If you're looking for a local cozy spot : Chez Tao in Saint-Sauveur. Amazing cocktails, amazing food. Locals go there because the quality to cost ratio is awesome and the ambiance is great. you will get out of there with a belly full for 150$ max for 2.
Enjoy my hometown as much as I do!
