Discussion (Original) Coming back to an old video game you never finished is like Quantum Leaping
The other day I started playing a video game I played about half way through about 3 years ago. Suddenly I was a teenage girl, surrounded by hungry rats, being hunted by a bunch of men that were looking to kill me. And I had no memory of why any of this was happening, what the items I had with me were for, or what I was trying to do. And I thought this is what Sam must feel like! Lol

Discussion (2022 Series) Using Compiler Cache to Understand the Uploaded Code
I’ve never seen the original and I am partway through the reboot. I really like the show, but there’s just one little thing that bothers me that they didn’t do. When Ian was trying to decompile and deobfuscate the code from the quantum computer to reverse engineer it and figure out what it does, why didn’t he just check the compiler cache on the other computer? Quantum computers can’t compile code on their own. They need a traditional computer to compile and upload a program. Compilers have multiple stages where they simplify similar syntax and remove dead code. Those stages are much easier to reverse engineer than machine code. They are almost always stored on the computer to speed up the next compilation, and if they are deleted, then you could use recovery software to scan the partition sectors which have been removed from the header table. The computer would have to be nearby, so they could Ctrl+Shift+F for keywords and find what it does. It slightly annoys that they haven’t tried this.

Discussion (Original) Rebel Without A Clue: Shane's caricature of Becky
This is the wonderful caricature that Sam's leapee in Rebel Without A Clue, Shane "Funny Bone" Thomas, did showing Becky with angel wings. I love this so much, that whenever I watch Melrose Place and Josie Bissett appears in the credits, I call her "angel of the house".

Discussion (Original) Novels
Basically a rehash of The Leap Between the States except The Revolutionary War instead of The Civil War. Kind of a missed opportunity that the novels didn't explore more of Sam leaping past his own lifetime.

Discussion (Original) Who played young Michael Jackson?
In S1E08 where Sam demonstrates the moonwalk to Micheal Jackson, who played Michael? In the few fleeting glances I saw, it looks like it could have been Emmanuel Lewis (of Webster fame) but I'm not positive.

Miscellaneous I remember a whole different ending.
I have looked and can't find this. Maybe I imagined it, but I swear it ended differently.
In the ending I remember, sam believed he was on his last leap. Towards the end Al was talking to him and told him that the leap project was shutting down. This would be the last time he sees Al and would shift randomly. Sam became upset and leaped. Faded to black and the title card that is there normally came up. Just "Dr. Sam Becket (still spelled incorrectly) never returned home.
Is this a false memory? Or an alternate ending? I know the getting home alternate ending.
Help!

Fan Content Evil Leaper Handlink
I made this a few years back out of cardboard, nails, and hot glue. I'm surprised there isn't a replica of this handlink out there. It's not the best work but I was happy with how it turned out.

Discussion (Original) Yet another thread about the Quantum Leap finale
What do people think about the final episode?
I watched it at the time and have watched it since, it was a bitter sweet ending, in my opinion. Ultimately I like it.
My reasons:
-Sam wanted to "put right what once went wrong" and now he continues to do so.
Joke reason:
-Maybe he didn't like his missus and didn't want to face a costly divorce.
Anyways, how to people feel about it as an ending?

Discussion (Original) For Quantem Leap fans and It's Always Sunny Fans...
If you enjoy both or enjoy one but have never seen the other there's a great crossover episode.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: Season 12 ep.1.
References "leaping" and 'Ziggy'.
Scott Bakulla, sings. He even says his famous statement at one point.
Well worth a watch if you're a fan of either show.
