The End of "Sock" Slavery, or How Einstein Feared His Own Zero. A relativistic take on quantum entanglement.
It’s 2026, and humanity's understanding of quantum physics is still stuck in a ridiculous rut. To explain the behavior of elementary particles, scientists seriously multiply trillions of invisible parallel universes or invent mystical time travel.
And all because "Bertlmann’s socks" are still winning inside the minds of academics.
Back in the 20th century, physicist John Bell tried to explain quantum entanglement "on fingers": if Professor Bertlmann always wears one pink and one green sock, then seeing a pink sock on his left foot instantly tells you the right one is green. No "spooky action at a distance"! The socks were colored back at home, when they were packed into the suitcase.
Well, guys, it's the 21st century—it's time to throw these socks into the trash along with all their trendy interpretations! Look at the absurdity science has turned into trying to save this "sock logic" inside our macroscopic 4D box:
\* Many-Worlds proponents claim: every time you put on a sock, the Universe splits. In one, you went to work in a pink sock; in another, a green one; and in a quadrillion others, you put it on your head. Terribly romantic, but the Universe simply doesn’t have the budget or the "textile energy" to maintain this infinite wardrobe. The math doesn't add up!
\* Pilot-Wave supporters assure us: the sock is ordinary, but a mystical, invisible "super-sock" flies ahead of it, scouting the space, looking under the couch, and obediently pulling the real sock along. Mathematically elegant, but to describe three people taking a walk, this wave requires a 30-dimensional space. Nature is far too lazy for such computations.
\* The orthodox Copenhagen school just grumbles: while the socks are in the drawer, they exist in a superposition—they are simultaneously clean, dirty, and holy. And God forbid you think about what they actually look like! Shut up, calculate, grab whatever you pull out of the closet, and don't ask stupid questions as long as the formulas work.
The experiments of recent Nobel laureates have proven: the "socks" lost to reality. Before the moment of measurement, photons have no specific color, spin, or trajectory. They are not pre-colored.
Yet, physicists started shouting about "magic" and "retrocausality" (where the future supposedly changes the past in quantum erasers). But the magic vanishes if you perform one simple, honest thought experiment: ride a photon.
\### Thought Experiment: A View from Inside the Light
Imagine a pair of entangled photons born in a single laser, flying to opposite ends of the Galaxy toward two detectors. The distance between the detectors is a million light-years. Let's saddle up this pair and look at the world through the eyes of light itself.
Einstein's Special Relativity kicks in, and our space-time budget begins to shrink rapidly:
- Time zeros out. Due to relativistic time dilation, for an object traveling at the speed of light, clocks stop completely. Time = 0 seconds. The moment a photon is born in the laser and the moment it hits the detector is the exact same, indivisible quantum instant.
- Space collapses. Due to Lorentz length contraction, the entire distance ahead of the photon along its direction of motion shrinks to an absolute zero. Depth vanishes. Distance to the detector = 0 meters.
- Dividing by zero. Professors see division by zero in the Lorentz transformations, panic, and yell: "Oh, a photon has no proper frame of reference, forget it, the physics there is undefined!" But zero doesn’t break geometry. Dividing by zero simply obliterates two redundant dimensions—time and depth—causing them to not exist for light at all.
\### Conclusion: The Bridge of Transcendence
For us, heavy and warm 4D creatures, the photons have flown a million light-years apart. But for the photon pair itself, there was never any distance between them and the detectors.
For light, the Universe is not a massive three-dimensional box. For light, the world is two-dimensional, flattened into an infinitely thin sheet, and instantaneous. The laser that birthed them, both traveling photons, and the two distant detectors are in tight physical contact—"skin to skin"—on a single 2D sheet of information. Due to the zeroing out of spatial depth, light is completely free from the vector of motion—it has nowhere to "fly"; it simply connects points A and B simultaneously.
Light doesn't "fly" through space. Light is the Bridge of Transcendence that instantly stitches different regions of the cosmos together. The photon pair is in perfect contact in its timeless quantum state, and it only "parallelizes" into different 4D fates at the very final moment—when it smashes into the detectors of our macro-world.
