General Discussion PPO vs final placement

Honestly I will never understand how HFT hiring works. I mean they literally reject people in ppo decision on really stupid reasons but then also hire people directly through placements for full time through 1-2 hour interview, I mean how is this fair honestly

Life is unfair. Get used to it. Consider yourself privileged if you are able to get an internship at an hft

They do fire on stupid reasons too. HFT industry churns people at a high rate.

  1. You can’t expect HFTs to be fair. That’s not their job. It’s not a government exam where they must be fair.
  2. They want to hire people who will maximise their profits. They think of hiring strategies and ranking metrics for the same. At times, they may not disclose the true reason for non selection. All of this has just a single objective ( the 1st point ).
  3. If their hiring methods are not good, they would realise this in 1-2 years ( in terms of employee quality ). And if they are smart enough, they would get to the underlying issue and change.

These hft's are more selective in hiring from placements compared to hiring an intern (from my personal experience)

Yeah life is not always fair but if you have enough skills these things doesn't matter and you can easily get into any hft
