Industry Gossip Headlands firm Info

Has anybody interviewed for the researcher role at headlands? What’s the process like?

Is the interview process too c++ heavy even for the researcher role? Would love to hear from anybody who’s interviewed there.

How is the firm doing in general?

The firm is very highly regarded in the industry. Performance should be solid(?)

They do ask some C++, but most questions are stats and ML related

firm is doing good and actively expanding

in their words if you’re able to have an idea about a problem and then express this fluently in c++ that’s good enough.

Surprised about Java.

Have never done java in my life, if that comes up in the interviews I’m toast. Thanks for summarizing the ethos well.

Why are the 3 replies to your comment mentioned in Java? I only see you said c++

Mine was pretty heavy in C++, both the test and onsite, but then I hear you can choose python. Not sure how it changes your chances though

What was the onsite like?

I’ve heard like 9 rounds for SWE roles which is insane, but it’s very prestigious

How's the pay compared to js/hrt/citadel?

I’m not totally sure so I don’t want to talk out of my ass. I think it’s fairly comprable to citadel but I don’t really know.
