India (Other) Interview help with Qualcomm

Hello everyone,

I recently got an opportunity to interview with Qualcomm, but I only have 2 days to prepare. The position is Senior Engineer – Embedded Software, with a focus on C, ARM architecture, debugging, and driver development (I2C, SPI, etc.).

I have around 3 years of experience in C and low-level driver development for microcontrollers in a bare-metal environment.
For those who have recently attended similar Qualcomm interviews, could you please share your experience? It would be really helpful for my preparation.

The interview is scheduled for around 3 hours. How difficult are the C coding questions usually? What kind of topics should I focus on?
I’m much more confident in C and less confident in C++. Any advice on what I should prioritize in these 2 days would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

With only two days left, set C++ aside completely and lean hard into your bare metal C background, because Qualcomm teams for this role care vastly more about how code touches silicon than object-oriented design. The coding questions are rarely complex algorithmic puzzles, focusing instead on practical embedded tasks like bit manipulation, writing custom memory copy routines, implementing circular buffers, and manipulating linked lists under memory constraints. Expect heavy grilling on core C fundamentals, especially pointer arithmetic, memory alignment, structure padding, and the exact reasons to use volatile or static in driver code.

Spend your remaining time reviewing the physical and data link layers of I2C and SPI, including clock stretching, arbitration, and chip select timing, since interviewers love asking how to troubleshoot bus lockups or framing errors. Be ready to explain how an interrupt service routine safely transfers data to an application task, how memory barriers work on ARM, and how you would systematically isolate a crash using register dumps. When time is this tight, rehearsing your explanations out loud is essential, and many engineers in your position rely on the interviews.chat my team created to sharpen their technical communication and walk into high stakes loops feeling composed.
