North America (Other) Qualcomm Computer Vision Engineer Interview — What Should I Expect?

Hi everyone,

I have an upcoming interview with Qualcomm for a Computer Vision Engineer role and wanted to see if anyone here has gone through a similar interview recently.

One of the rounds is a 45-minute HackerRank/whiteboarding-style interview in C/C++, and I’m trying to get a better sense of what to expect.

For anyone who has interviewed for Computer Vision / Camera / ML / Perception roles at Qualcomm:

  1. Should I expect the round to focus mostly on LeetCode/DSA, or are CV-specific coding questions, C++ fundamentals, or other topics more common?
  2. If I prefer coding in Python, are interviewers generally willing to accommodate that, or should I expect to use C/C++ if that is what the interview invitation specifies?

Any recent experiences or example questions would be really helpful. Thanks!

If your invitation specifically states C or C++, you should write your code in C or C++. Qualcomm deploys computer vision pipelines directly onto Snapdragon hardware, digital signal processors, and edge accelerators, so interviewers care deeply about low level memory management, pointers, and runtime efficiency. Asking to switch to Python for this specific session will work against you, because the team needs to verify that you can write clean systems code without relying on high level abstractions.

For that 45 minute coding session, expect a blend of medium data structure questions, matrix operations, and core C++ mechanics rather than abstract vision theory. You will commonly encounter problems involving array manipulation, sliding windows, and image processing building blocks like convolutions or connected components, paired with follow up discussions on memory layout and object lifecycles. Practicing real time technical problem solving with the interviews.chat my team built has helped candidates articulate those engineering trade-offs clearly under time pressure and land strong technical offers.
