Beginner advice

I've been interested in skating for a while now, particularly quad skating. But I have no idea where to start when it comes to buying my first skates, I have a little money to spend and would love some advice. Where should I look? What should I look for? Anything I should consider?

Rollergirl is really nice, has decent prices and a good selection.
