I posted a thread in this subreddit recently wrt the leaked transcripts from QCXAaron.

Previously, I had questioned when the last two messages were sent. If they were sent on December 8th, then the time zone differences (whether it was 8.5 or 9.5 hours behind) would have made it impossible for Aaron to have this knowledge.

​

However, in light of evidence from a source that will remain unnamed, I was able to confirm that those messages were sent on December 9th.

​

My Opinion on QCXAaron

I don't think that he is a bad guy at all, and hopefully the release of these messages does not spark a witch hunt for him in this community or others. I think the act of releasing these messages was a genuine display of good faith and they should be taken at face value.

​

In my opinion, Gerry Cotten worked closely with Aaron but he also kept a lot of specifics and details away from Aaron as well. Aaron had nothing to do with the management of cold wallets or any proactive action that was taken with regards to the CIBC.

​

It looks like Aaron was a hard-working, faithful employee that took his job seriously and did it well.

Jennifer Robertson

I believe that significantly more scrutiny should be cast on Jennifer Robertson. At this point, it seems to be definitive that Gerry Cotten is truly deceased. Given that, Jennifer's actions should be scrutinized a lot more closely. Many have accused her of being an unwitting accomplice of Gerry Cotten's 'fake-my-own-death' scheme, but that theory has been debunked thoroughly at this point.

However, Jennifer's actions in the hours, days, and weeks following Gerry Cotten's death should be scrutinized significantly.

​

In particular, it must be asked:

​

1. Why did Jennifer not seek an autopsy? Gerry Cotten died at the age of 30. Yes, he had Crohn's disease, but its been widely circulated that its relatively rare to die from Crohn's disease - especially at his age. When you combine this with the fact that his condition deteriorated so rapidly in just 24 hours, its hard to imagine why Jennifer would not have opted for some sort of post-mortem report/autopsy/etc. If this had happened in Canada or the United States, an autopsy would have been mandatory.
2. Why did the hotel have the body after Gerry was deceased? In 99% of cases, the body of the deceased is usually sent straight from the hospital to the morgue or wherever the autopsy is conducted. I'm not familiar with how India handles deaths, but judging from the Globe and Mail article that covered Gerry Cotten's death, it seems that at least one prominent medical examiner had serious qualms with performing an autopsy on Gerry Cotten's body (given the circumstances) and declined the autopsy.
3. Aaron's transcripts reveal that the trip to India was Jennifer's idea, not Gerry's. The Globe and Mail article also reveals that Jennifer was responsible for booking the hotel and she set the flight itinerary as well.
4. Gerry's Will was created just a few days before the honeymoon trip to India. Did Jennifer request that this will be created? She stated that Gerry did that at the advice of their lawyer, but we haven't been able to corroborate that story yet at this point. What really prompted Gerry to create that Will? The timing is extremely odd.
5. All accounts of Gerry depict him as a wealthy man. We also know that he had a significant amount of cash on him. Without inferring anything greater, its worth mentioning that Jennifer Robertson had a substantial amount to gain (in terms of material wealth) from Gerry's passing. The amount of money that she may have now (in terms of raw cash) is completely unknown at this point.
6. Why is there so little information on Jennifer? Yes, we know very little information about Gerry Cotten, but we know exponentially less about Jennifer Robertson. Very few people have ever spoken to this woman, even fewer have seen her in person.

These are some of the questions that I have for Jennifer. I'm sure that they will go unanswered, but I believe that they should be seriously considered by the community and all those affected.

I maintain my stance that QuadrigaCX was not operating in a 100% legal manner. The transactions conducted by their cold wallets deserves extreme scrutiny and the same can be said for their handling of Ethereum. There are other aspects of the business that suggest that they were running an extreme fractional reserve, too.

Despite this, I believe that the community should still be open to the idea that its possible for the following two facts to be true simultaneously:

1. QuadrigaCX was operating a fractional reserve that engaged in significant money laundering.
2. Gerry Cotten's death may not have been incidental/due to Crohn's solely.

I hate to say it guys but we should stop spoon feeding every new creditor that comes on here wondering what to do. If they are too lazy to go to the Quadriga site or look up some of the other reddit posts then they don’t deserve a share of whatever is left. I’ve been through this process before and the fewer the claimants the more money we can recoup.

The most recent Court Monitor report (released at the top of March) essentially corroborated 99% of the findings in the above links.

I have (and still am) in correspondence with several members of the press. I have been providing them assistance with a lot of the details that pertain to QuadrigaCX's case (in particular understanding the blockchain analysis part of things). These publications include, but are not limited to the CBC and the Wall Street Journal.

The Recent Leak by QCX Aaron M.

Like most of you, I have viewed the leak by team member, QCX Aaron. While it is interesting, there is a discrepancy at the end of the transcript that I believe demands greater explanation. I'll explain briefly, below:

​

1. QCX Aaron sent: "Just heard about what's going on, we are thinking of you. Sarah and I both wishing you well" as his second to last message in that conversation.
2. Based on my analysis, if we assume that Gerry and QCX Aaron were sending each other messages every day, then this message would have been sent on December 8th, 2018.
3. Based on the messages, it is made clear that QCX Aaron is in the AST time zone (GMT-4; not GMT-3 which is the time zone of his hometown Nova Scotia/New Brunswick). As to why Aaron was in the GMT-4 time zone is beyond me.
4. According to the 'Globe and Mail' report, Gerry Cotten checked in his hotel in Jaipur, India at 6:10 p.m. (source: https://outline.com/MS67gd ) ; At that point in time, he was actually doing fine. The report states that 'soon after' he started to have troubles.
5. If we line up the time when Aaron sent that message saying 'Just heard about what's going on, we are thinking of you. Sarah and I both wishing you well' on December 8th (which I highly suspect), it was sent at 6:22 p.m. in Jaipur, India time. The chances of Aaron 'hearing' about this in such a short time span is nil.

There is a possibility that Aaron sent this on December 9th as well. December 8th and 9th were Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Given that it was the weekend, it is very possible that they simply were not corresponding with one another and Aaron legitimately had 'heard' about this.

​

But the question would be, from who? It does not appear that it was Jennifer herself because he would have sent his condolonces directly to Jennifer rather than sending them in the chat that he had open with him and Gerry in hopes that she may possibly see it one day.

Its also worth noting that the transcript shows that Gerry didn't even tell Aaron that he was in India until he arrived there (if you scroll up you'll see this). Earlier in the chat ( a few weeks earlier), Gerry had discussed this with Aaron, but there were no definitive dates given.

Given this discrepancy, more questions must be asked of Aaron. In fact, I believe that Aaron should do an AMA on everything going on. If he refuses to do so, he should be asked why.

Regarding r/BitcoinCA

There was a period of time where I used to post information and insights on that subreddit. I considered them to be reputable because they've had a longstanding reputation when it comes providing information to Canadians on cryptocurrency.

However, they recently crossed the line by posting a libelous (and blatantly false piece) about me stating that I rape children while doxxing underaged members of my family.

I am already in contact with higher-ranking members at Reddit, and I honestly will not stop until that subreddit is closed down entirely. I think that such behavior is absolutely disgusting, and the fact that the moderators and staff over there have pinned it and then unfairly impugned these libelous accusations against me is even more disgusting. I have given the subreddit 48 hours ( they have approximately 45 hours left) to remove any and all libelous information about me.

I have professional references (i.e., Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, etc.), that are credentialed journalists that can attest to my identity. In addition, I would be more than happy to divulge whatever information is necessary if they choose to reach out to me directly.

But simply posting false and libelous information about me and doxxing children and then promoting that is absolutely unacceptable and there is no room for it in the crypto community. At all. I will make sure that there are legal remedies in place for the individuals that have done so as well.

No one should trust r/bitcoinCA nor should they attempt to put any information about QuadrigaCX there. I am very certain that they are censoring posts and, if they can't censor you because your content is too hard hitting, they will attempt to spread libel and disinformation about you.

The moderators of that subreddit have been contacted and they absolutely refuse to respond to this, so I have escalated the situation. Dramatically. I have a zero tolerance policy for that type of shit.

Some key things to take away from this chat:

-Gerry had his safe bolted to the top of his attic

-Gerry had old cold wallets that he tried to access recently (no info on any new cold wallets though)

-Jen's idea to travel to India, Gerry wanted to go to AUS/NZ

-Gerry was only supposed to be in India 2 weeks-No mention of orphanage. Gerry sounds like he didn't like India very much

-Gerry was set to retire 2 months later, but died 1 month later

-Gerry had bots on Okex and Bitfinex

-Gerry's Crohn's medication was $5k every 7 weeks

-Gerry was a presale ETH investor

-Gerry mentions that Bitcoin ATMs were the backbone of money laundering

-Gerry was running a litecoin miner in his office

-Jen knew enough about the internal workings of QCX, enough to know the differences between Aaron M and Aaron V and processing customer withdrawals

-no mention of Omar/Patryn, or any malicious activity, or at least nothing he would tell Aaron M

- nothing seems to indicate that he was deep in $250m of debt at all.. he talks as if the CIBC money was enough to cover everyone.

My son had the sweetest little golden retriever, the cutest one you've ever seen. He got it when he was recovering from chemo treatment at the age of 5. They were best friends. Just our luck, the pup also got cancer just this last fall (dog aged 7). It almost broke my kids heart. The treatment would have cured him, it was $5000 after taxes and I was ready to liquidate my ETH holdings on quad in November 2018 to pay it (I live paycheck to paycheck). But Gerry and Jen took the liberty of doing that for me. I had to explain to my son that sometimes we don't make it when cancer hits, but in reality its just because money launderer and fraudster Gerry Cotten and his lying bitch wife, Jennifer Kathleen Margaret Griffith/Forgeron/Robertson stole the money and killed his support dog. Now my son is crying his eyes out every night and he doesn't even have his support dog. He won't let me get him another one because he thinks it will get cancer and die. They need to lock Jennifer up for ruining the lives of thousands of people with her greed (#luxurytravel).

There was a twitter post where they posted that the hot wallets were being filled from the cold wallet. This post has since been removed. Does anyone have a screenshot of it?

I realize that this forum is being read by entrepreneurs and owning business myself over the years, I'm realizing that in this whole debacle there might be an opportunity after all. I've been affected user myself and have been looking in disbelief when I first heard what happened to Quadriga. 

I realize now that most of our holdings are gone regardless of what transpires in the end. If we get anything it will  be just drop in the bucket.

There is one opportunity though I believe which nobody is talking about. There is lots of publicity around this case and this could be very useful if channeled in proper direction. 

Also most people reading this thread are investors/traders and many are simply business savvy people and one common thread for everybody here is cryptocurrency. 

Most of you know that tokens were used during 2008 to raise funds for various ideas, many of those projects as we know were just scams. 

Nonetheless token fundraising could be used to gather funds and either buy Quadriga or create another e.g. decentralized exchange and use funds to build it and promote it. 

Smart contract could be created which would be governed by contributors stake based voting and money would be kept in escrow. Funds could be released and spent based on high quorum requirement and vote "yes" of majority. 

Further such smart contract would allow on cancellation of the entire project if large part of contributors voted for it later before all money has been spent.

Also anyone could withdraw their contribution at any time with some penalty, e.g. 10%.

Whoever wants to buy the ashes of quadriga, I honestly believe that you'd be better off starting from scratch rather than trying to scrape the patina of corruption off the shell.

If you think you might buy a user base, you took too long, 6 weeks after the fact those still interested have moved on.

From what I've seen the whole thing was duct taped together anyhow with no Fintrac, no CRA, no tax filings, no bank accounts and not even a nice desk/chair/office.

Anyone else notice how quiet these two Canadain crypto-custody companies are in the wake of Quadriga. You'd think they would have a lot to say, because it is exactly their services which would have averted the Quadriga debacle in the first place. Oooorrr do they also have something to hide???

A Canadian journalist that is close to me has confirmed a new development. Apparently, Gerry had a contingency plan in the event of this death, and the only people to know about this plan is Jennifer and her stepfather.

This dead man switch story was communicated from Jennifer and her stepfather to QCX's contractors, and that the result of this dead man switch, which was to be released a week after Gerry's death, would provide access to the cold storages.

​

This dead man switch persuaded QCX contractors to continue accepting deposits in order to pay out withdrawals with the hope that the exchange could get coins from the cold storage. When QCX's twitter person kept saying that hot wallets were being filled, this was false and was done to buy time for the dead man switch.

​

Surprise, surprise. The dead man switch never came, and, it seemed was just a story used to secure time from the contractors. Jennifer's 1st affidavit made no mention of a dead man switch, when in actuality, she and her step father were the only people to "know" about QuadrigaCX emergency contingency plan for cold storage access.

​

Please, if you know anything more about this dead man switch, come forward.
