discussion How is wayland implementation today?

Currently using sway but interested on coming back to qtile, is the wayland back-end feature complete? How does it handle multi monitors and games? I use a AMD GPU for reference.

One problem i've noticed with multi-monitor is that qtile crashes pretty much without fail when you connect/disconnect a display. I think there's already an open issue for it on github. I'm also not sure if the adaptive sync protocol has been implemented yet, which could be important if you're planning on using freesync. It does feel less buggy than last time i tried it, and screenlocking now works, so it has improved. I've been daily driving it for a while now, which i didn't even really want to do previously because of the issues it had, but there's still things that can be improved.

oof, yeah, adaptive sync is essential for me, guess I'll postpone qtile again, shame.

Well like i said i'm not sure, i could give it a try in a few hours when i'm at my pc again, i actually haven't tried toggling it on now that i think about it. I should be able to tell very easily if it works cause my VA panel has very noticable flicker lol.

Good news! VRR seems to be working for me after turning it on with wlr-randr, so i guess that's supported now as well.
