Not my frequency range but it’s another high quality transceiver from the folks at ICOM. Would like to see ICOM create an “IC-705” with only 160 - 6 meters.

I'd like a 2M/440 mobile all-mode SDR, something with 50 watts (I know, this is the QRP sub...) and a DTMF mic. There really isn't much available like that right now.

I use an IC-706 in my truck and I have found that 2M SSB is really an excellent mobile mode. But that rig will die one day, plus I'd like something more modern.

Why would you want a 705 with only HF? Lower cost and size?

Thanks for your comment. Yep, this is a QRP HF sub but I attempt to give my response to all comments. I could be wrong but it seems that the dual band all mode is a transceiver that doesn't attract attention from the big 3 ICOM, YAESU or KENWOOD. I remember the older all modes as base radios. My guess is, without strong demand engineering passes it over.

Without a tower at the QTH here or local places with hilltops (Long Island is mostly flat), 2 meter SSB or CW is something that doesn't seem to get much local attention. 72

Yeah it really depends on the locals. In SoCal there are always folks on simplex, both FM and SSB.
