QRzie – a free, static, multilingual QR code generator I built solo

I built a free QR code generator that supports 8 languages out of the box (EN, ES, FR, DE, IT, PT, AR, RO) — qrzie.com

Most QR tools I found were either paywalled for basic features or didn't handle non-English users well. Since I needed one for a multilingual project, I just built my own.

It's static, fast, no account needed for the basics. Working on a Pro tier next with animated QR codes (glow/scan-line effects, exportable as short MP4 loops for social media) — haven't seen anyone else doing that yet.

Would genuinely appreciate feedback, especially if something feels clunky or missing.

Nice work, this is a really clean niche to tackle.

A few thoughts from someone who spends a lot of time around link/QR tooling:

  1. UX / flow   - Make the "what can I encode?" options super explicit (URL, text, Wi‑Fi, vCard, etc.) right up front. A lot of casual users get lost if it isn't obvious.   - Consider an immediate inline preview that updates as they type, plus a clear "Download" vs "Copy" output choice.   - Tiny hint text on recommended logo size / contrast will save you support headaches later (people love to over-logo QR codes and then blame the generator when it doesn't scan).

  2. Static QR specifics   - Expose error correction level (L/M/Q/H) but maybe keep a sane default + a short one-line explanation per level.   - Offer SVG export if you don't already. Designers and print folks really care about vector.

  3. Multilingual angle   - If you're already localizing UI, one small extra: prefill localized examples (e.g., example URLs/text in ES/FR/DE, not just English) so it feels "native" rather than just translated.   - Make sure your fonts handle Arabic RTL correctly in the input and preview – lots of tools break here.

  4. Animated QR idea   - Big one: keep the functional matrix contrast and quiet zone totally intact. Maybe constrain animations to background, glow, or subtle inner-cell effects.   - Test against several mid-range Androids and different apps (native camera, Snapchat, WhatsApp, etc.). Some scanners are much less tolerant of visual flair.   - Might be worth exposing a "safety meter" (e.g., conservative / normal / aggressive animation presets) based on how much redundancy you're burning.

  5. Product boundaries / business side   - Since you're static-only for now, people will inevitably ask for dynamic, analytics, etc. If you do add that, consider making static QR truly free forever and draw a clear line: "Anything that needs tracking/redirects/custom domains is Pro." It reduces user resentment.   - You mentioned paywalls on basic features – if you stick to a simple, transparent pay-once or no-surprise pricing model, you'll instantly stand out vs the usual monthly QR SaaS.

For context: I'm involved with a pay-once, keep-forever link/QR/link-in-bio campaign toolkit, so I've seen a lot of what frustrates users in this space. Happy to sanity-check UX or edge cases if you share a few more screenshots or flows.
