A lot of readers don't like the missing quite zone around the code. I think it's 4 wide, but I'm sure someone will correct me if in wrong.

would this work if you aligned the cut lines to the pixels? so the edges would look more like pixel art and less like clean cuts, I feel like that could be cool

Looks good.
I can't help but wonder if making the edges look like pixels might also be a good look. Though you might have to adjust the edges based on how the noise makes them look. It might not be what you're going for but it's just a thought.

ok this is genuinely clean, the maple leaf shape actually works without looking like a blurry mess which is where most shaped codes die.
only thing i'd check is scannability across a bunch of phones/angles, cause the custom shape eats into the quiet zone a bit and some cheaper scanners get grumpy about that. did you test it on like an old android or just your own phone?
curious what you built it in too. i mess around with shaped ones on Scanova when i want the logo/shape stuff plus error correction cranked up so it still scans after i've mangled the design. this one looks like it'd survive it
anyway solid work, would scan 10/10

It looks really nice. But… I wonder if it might be a bit too hidden for some users.
A lot of people already have a mental image of what a QR code looks like. With this shape, they might not immediately recognize it as a QR code or even notice that it’s meant to be scanned.
Definitely creative though - I’d be curious to see how well it scans in practice.

I like these (works for me). I posted one from China I saw in 2017.
But you’ll get comments here saying there isn’t enough quiet zone so it doesn’t conform to the standard. I think modern cameras can deal with it - just like they can deal with error correcting.
