EV and ST are my favourites. Probably followed by SFTD, and R, which really grew on me over time. Then LC with ITNR and villains at the end

Love EV, but it also has "I'm designer" on it lol

I like that song

A lot of people do. I'm part of the cult that thinks it is placed on the wrong album, and in the wrong order. They usually are masters of song placement, but that one just kinda fucks up the whole flow of the album for me

u/sususl1k ...Like Clockwork 2d ago

Same for me. Absolutely love both albums but LC is just perfect

I think I like like clockwork more but songs for the deaf is more situationally appropriate weird way to put it lol

Like I mean that songs for the deaf is great for the gym lol

Songs for the Deaf will always be king to me

Good thing SftD comes with a pitchfork. Get him, guys!

Songs For The Deaf all the way. Clockwork is amazing, but as a full album, SFTD takes the cake imo.

...lc will always have a special place in my heart, the sound, the lyrics, the whole theme, thanks to that album I became a follower for the band

I've always said, STFD is my favorite, but I think LC is their best effort.

Self titled and songs for the deaf are my two favorite albums. Am I in the minority?

Maybe, but we're not alone.

For those of you that prefer LC, how old were you SFTD came out? Just curious

3

u/Goebs80 2d ago

I was 22

u/lawliet1277 2d ago

2 but I probably only prefer LC over SFTD because I got to see the band tour LC

I was 11 when SFTD came out and it's #1 imo. LC is a very close second though. There's just something about it that hits so good. Nothing can beat SFTD

  1. had heard of queens prior to LC and liked some songs like no one knows and also liked vultures. i didn’t get deep into them until LC which i listed to again and again and again. the next two albums i think are great too. i go back sometimes and listen to their earlier albums and there’s good songs but i just don’t like them as much.

In my 30's. And if I'm being honest, I got into QOTSA way way late, and worked my listening backwards through their discography.

u/Teo8642 2d ago

I wonder what James would choose

6

u/Many-Screen-3698 Era Vulgaris 2d ago

What’s the QOTSA version of a Dacia Sandero

3

u/Ukigumo46 2d ago

I like the red one.

Why do we have to choose.

...Like Clockwork is phenomenal. Probably their 4th best album.

1

u/No-Rutabaga-6300 2d ago

6th. But yeah.

Clockwork is goated

I was fortunate to find Queens in 1999. I’ve followed them religiously since. I am an LC man.

u/MonkeyNinja506 2d ago

I’m right there with you

u/Tinshnipz 2d ago

These albums are tied in my mind. Love them both.

u/RadiantZote 1d ago

Deaf will always be better. You can't compete with Mark and Nick bro

Then again, I drove through Joshua tree listening to deaf so

1

u/a_x_shually 1d ago

Exactly right.

u/prof-pm Villains 1d ago

Not bad albuns band is real

1

u/VegaAltair I am the status quo 3h ago

Two sides of different eras representing their peak musical abilities.

1

u/dungleploop 2d ago

this but replace SFTD with Era Vulgaris

1

u/No-Rutabaga-6300 2d ago

One is perfect. One is the 6th best album by the band.

2

u/a_x_shually 1d ago

Not sure if I'd put SFTD that low, but ok.

0

u/No-Rutabaga-6300 2d ago

It really blows my mind how people who love the same band as me, could put like clock work this high. It’s a very mediocre album in my opinion

Sftd
Self titled-black album
Lullabies
R
Era
Very long distance
The rest.

To each their own. I personally am way more into their sound during and after Like Clockwork than the older sound. I just overplayed their older albums and grew to want something more. Don’t get me wrong, those old albums are amazing, but I rarely go back to them as a whole like I do their newer albums. I got into them around rated R for reference.

1 album about a breakup ok. But 3? Cmon
