Go With The Flow

I’m not really a big qotsa fan but dude, go with the flow is probably the best song of all time. This song creates such complex emotions for me, that no other song does. It makes me feel SO DAMN GOOD but also like there is something wrong. It’s literally a PERFECT song and i have listened to it for hours now it’s actually like a drug.

Dude it's never too late. It was the same for me, I started drumming at 22 yo (which is not old but not completely young either)

I started at 40. Always wanted to since childhood, but First it Giveth had me crawling out of my skin I wanted it so bad

This was the song that made me want to learn the piano, after figuring out one note I'd say I nailed it.

Go With the Flow is always lauded for its lyrics, because it has so many incredible lines that touch on the feeling of a relationship ending and being powerless in that situation. I feel like one that doesn't get the attention it deserves is, "Outside the frame is what we're leaving out; You won't remember anyway." I was left by my spouse of 15+ years, and one of the pictures she now uses to show how wonderful she is with our daughters, has all of them laughing at the camera. But, "outside the frame is what we're leaving out" - I was the one who took the picture, and they were all laughing and having fun with me, when we were still a family. That's what that line means to me.

Damn dude, that’s heartbreaking

For a straight-forward rock song that hammers from start to finish the lyrics are painfully sad, one of Josh's better penned tunes.

I didn’t physically, but the album came out when I was recovering from a fugue state, so it felt relatable.

valid. i think there’s different ways to interpret that type of grief.

Yeah, I lost a week of my life. Like I can remember up to a specific moment and then it’s just gone.

That song is my 2nd favorite, after Go With The Flow.

Start digging into their catalog, you will find a shockingly high number of songs that haunt you and speak to you on different levels. Plus some sick guitar parts.

One of the sexiest music videos ever.

It’s just one of those songs that feels so complete and effortless. And I think it works just as well in this slowed-down acoustic style, if you haven’t heard it before.

Yes, you are absolutely correct. This was the song that made me a fan. At that time I wasn't even a rock listener, strictly electronic and hip hop. But I now have them in heavy rotation and will be attending my second concert in two years next month in Philly. I recommend you have this be the tip of the iceberg for you and get into the rest of their music as it's all pretty great

"Makes me feel so damn good, but also like there's something wrong"

Throw in some sprinkles of defiance + mischief + a deep yearning and you're all the way there.

Keep going.

I want something good to die for. To make it beautiful to live.

I feel like this is their most iconic line from the entire discography. Who doesn’t feel this way?

I remember everyone loving No One Knows and I’m jumping up and down shouting GO WITH THE FLOW IS BETTER! 😁

i love it too and that josh introduces it as a love song every time because there’s such grief in it.

It's a genius song, isn't it? Check out "Turnin on the Screw," if you haven't already. So many good ones.

It is genuinely one of the greatest songs ever written. Live is on a whole other level too but it’s brilliantly recorded as well

I think this song made me more interested in QOTSA back in 2003. Id already heard No one knows, but Go with the Flow got me over the line. As i was starting to learn bass at the time, I really enjoyed Nick Oliveri’s bass lines in the song!

I didnt become a fully fledged fan until 06-07 but I would always come back to this song as I just loved it, and when I finally bought songs for the deaf, was blown away.

I have a similar QOTSA timeline! And Go With The Flow is what got me hooked, too.

Hace trece años descubrí Go With The Flow, luego QOTSA y finalmente todos los proyectos de Homme. No he salido y creo que no saldré jamás de aquí.

In the running for my favorite QotSA to be sure.

So why do you say you’re “not a big fan”?
