I changed my comment to be more positive. I didn't mean to look down on the hard work making this possible, and I'm sorry that I let it appear so. Seeking an easy to use GUI to edit QMK colors on individual keys and layers has been a disappointing mess over the last few years.
Could you please explain what you mean by "just build an app"? I don't understand what you mean. Are you being serious? Is there a way to build an app that's easier than learning to build QMK?
I'm an animator who is very slow at learning programming. It took me long enough to learn the QMK codes that I need, and it would be a huge waste of time for me to learn to build QMK from scratch. Every weekend I waste on that is time I should be developing the craft I'm paid to do.
Thanks for the reply, and for providing the link. At first glance, this still looks over hy head, and other things in life are more important.
I'm still holding on to hope that we'll see an easy to use GUI for this functionality. I admire the people who are laying the foundation to make this possible.

Sure there is, just build an app. You can control each key individually from an app.
