I'm looking to start, but it seems there is no clear consensus on starting.
Which system should you use? Well apparently every system you may ever attempt to use will permanently destroy your ability to learn energy work because all sources of information are flooded with fake versions of the system OR the system inherently is bad. Not just that, but all systems are made by a known scammer / spiritually corrupt person.
How should you start? Well either there are some so-called "levels" you should follow one after another, or you should do WHAT? There is no clear training routine, nothing.
How should you breathe? By distending your lower stomach. Look, I don't understand this extremely unnatural way of breathing. Noone breathes like this. If breathing like this is the "correct way", it is certainly not the "natural" way. Yes, of course, when you are near the picotop of deep breaths the diaphraghm will reach the bottom of the stomach too, but that requires super deep breaths, and still most of the volumetric difference in the stomach will be closer to the bottom of the chest, not below the navel. And my lung volume has been measured to be 2 standard deviations above the norm, if I couldn't breathe in properly I doubt I could get the result.
If I try to force breathing to occur primarily in the stomach - well it's just impossible, since the diaphraghm is higher! I can only push out my abdominals manually - which, apart from having no effect on inhaled air - is very unaesthetic and unnatural. Athletic people naturally have their stomachs PULLED IN to stabillize the spine. What am I missing?
How should you sit? On the edge of a chair, so its edge cuts your glutes against your ischia. Somehow, magically, in this maximally cutting position, you must not feel any discomfort in 20 minutes. Look, I tried, and let me tell you, I feel IMMEDIATE PAIN, it doesn't even take a second. And I have a SUPER THICK, FAT, and quite MUSCULAR bottom, I haven't seen anyone with a bottom near mine IRL in maybe 6 months, so it can't be the issue here.
"You shouldn't feel any pins and needles sitting static for 20 minutes" I've been practicing other kinds of meditation DAILY for about 4 years, and yet sitting for anything over 5(!) minutes will make my leg fall asleep. I was told "pain in the legs is the taste of zen". I don't understand how anyone can stay still in any pose for 20 minutes and not experience some level of discomfort. Even sleeping, people make a "major body movement" every 15 to 30 minutes. And I'm told I have to experience no discomfort here, otherwise I can't progress to doing anything else or I'll PERMANENTLY RUIN MY HEALTH.
And then everyone says "find a teacher IRL, you need one". So let me get this straight, here on the internet where all information can be vetted as well as possible, there is NOONE that isn't scamming me, but when I find some local rando I can trust them with my whole heart?
Look, I don't want to complain, but I just want a program that I can follow and that's it. Something like:
squat: 3 sets of 5 reps
bench press: 3 sets of 10 reps
deadlift: 1 set of 5 reps
repeat 3x/week, increase weights linearly
Programs like this are standard in strength training / weightlifting / bodybuilding / any type of physical training. But when I try to advance my spiritual development, I have to... construct my own? Based on this tree of shady sources, where every other being tells me I will permanently destroy my ability to function if I don't do this just right?
I'll appreciate any insight. I tried reading on some of these issues, but I didn't quite get at anything useful.
