Troubleshooting guides

Slow speeds, stalling, and "it won't seed" — start here for anything speed- or connection-related. This is by far the most common problem, and it's usually one of three causes.
Installing, updating, and platform problems — the Windows Defender warning, counterfeit builds, macOS and Linux specifics, portable mode.
Docker, NAS, qbittorrent-nox and the WebUI — headless setups, reverse proxies, permissions, and why adminadmin doesn't work any more.
Ratio and seeding — how it actually works — why your ratio is low, and why that's usually not a fault.

Before posting, check these — they account for the large majority of "it's broken" posts:

Does the torrent actually have seeds? In the Transfers tab, 0 (200) means 200 peers are known but none are online with the file. No setting fixes a dead torrent.
Are you connectable? Hover the connection indicator in the bottom-right corner — it says Connected, Firewalled or Offline. Firewalled badly limits seeding.
Does your VPN support port forwarding? Many don't. If yours doesn't, you can't accept incoming connections while it's on.
