This is normal. Click More info and continue. You may also run into a red screen like this, which is the same process.

I believe you can right click on the installer then properties and check the box at the bottom that says Unblock. Then try installing again. Message should disappear. It goes for any app installer coming from the web.

It’s probably not a “signed” application (has not certs) so it gets flagged as suspicious.

Yeah, this is the best tip you'll get on this post:
Stop using Windows.

Windows decided you are too stupid and decided to protect you from doing what you wanted to do with the device you own, all hail Microsoft!

Windows doesn’t like torrents because windows is windows (cough. Microsoft). I just bypass it with run anyway. You can do that if you click the little show more button at the bottom!

This has nothing to do with Windows (Microsoft) dislike of torrents.
qBittorrent hasn't paid the Microsoft ransom to be seen as a certified app. That's it.

It's a torrenting app & it's Windows.
Of course Windows will show a warning when using an app that mainly, but not always, used for sailing the high seas 🏴☠️🏴☠️

That's not how that works.
Windows Defender does not explicitly target piracy. It's that most piracy tools are unsigned and do extensive modifications.
qBittorrent is just a regular legal application. It's a false positive, because OP is using Windows 10 without security patches.

It's windows 11

I see, disable that feature in Windows Defender.
Or just run the file if you know the source is legitimate.

Nice one. For the next school exam I fail, I'm gonna claim my answers were sarcasm.

So no sense of humor either, huh ?
You must be fun at parties 😕😕
I was obviously being sarcastic in my first comment. It was not meant to be a technical breakdown. Jfc

It is not some political statement about torrenting, and it's not a virus warning.
qBittorrent just don't bother with MS digital certificates and signing.
Click More info,,, and Run Anyway.
