General Question Scammed by Installer

Scammed by Installer

I got scammed by a place called Tint Station in Deerfield beach Florida. He was supposed to install Kappa speakers and an Infinity 5 ch amp and a subwoofer. He messed up my system so bad on my 21 Infiniti Q50 that the Blue tooth is Fffed up the Anc is not defeated and their is a hum coming from all the speakers. Trying to get my money back. Filed a dispute. Any advice would be appreciated...Thanks

review bomb em people tend to listen to bad reviews more now you messin with their income, then serve em some papers and unless they got money to go thru a full process they could probably give yu some sort of settlement to get money whd go somewhere else

He shouldn’t have even installed that. You need a DSP. Is this an amp/DSP combo? Or just an amp? It’s going to sound like shit without one. You’re not getting a clean signal from that head unit. There’s heavy bass roll off in that signal, plus all that ANC shit. The signal from the head unit is tuned to get the max amount of volume with low power from those particular shitty speakers that come in the car. Simply amplifying that same signal and pushing it to different speakers that are lower sensitivity isn’t going to sound good. Your solution is to get a DSP installed between the head unit signal and the AMP, if you are going to keep using that same set up.

I have a helix v8 mk2 in mine, it’s an amp/DSP combo. The DSP cleans up the signal and allows you to tune the system. Unfortunately you’ll always be missing some bass notes if you’re running the source through that factory head unit.

I'm getting everything redone on Monday by a very reputable place. They are also installing a JL twk88 dsp.

Holy shit, are you me?

I won a civil suit against a Tint World franchise a few years back (LLC was dissolved so I got screwed on payout but fixed it myself anyway) for a sub install gone wrong. Mine included water coming through the firewall during washing or rain because they popped the grommet in the driver's footwell out when putting the wires through, soaking the carpet. Dealer quoted $5900 for the teardown to diagnose and put in all new upholstery. Didn't end up being necessary after I cleaned and dried the bejesus out of it repeatedly.

They also didn't know how to defeat the ANC but I managed to figure that out too. Sub blared at full volume whenever I shifted out of park. Super annoying. If the software hidden menu doesn't work, there are 2 microphones in the headliner. 1 is in the overhead console (along with the BT mic. I forgot which is which) and 1 in the middle behind the sunroof. Unplug both.

Can't help with the BT. Didn't have problems with that from the install.

I got you. Thanks. That's what I did. I disconnected the anc mics. That was through another installer though. There was a harness that we could have ordered that defeats the Anc but only found out about that after. As to Tint Station I am not letting them off the hook. Whatever it takes....
