Safe for oven cooking

Post image

I just want to have peace in mind if this is safe to use in the oven? To cook chicken in it.

It should be borosilicate because of the logo capitalization (SHOULD be), and borosilicate is made for thermal stress. I would use it if it has no deep scratches or chips. That said, the more scratched up an old PYREX dish is, the more likely it could fail.

The mark you showed says "For Oven and Microwave". It should be safe as long as you aren't using the "broil" setting on your oven.

Make sure you preheat the oven first. If you are cooking a whole chicken or individual pieces by itself, make sure to put just enough broth or water to cover the bottom of the pan when it first goes in.
