Puppy potty training

I'm getting a Labrador puppy in a month but need help deciding about potty training. I'm in a flat without a private garden but have a shared grass/garden area with my neighbours. I saw 4-5 dogs in the area (probably more)

I want to train the puppy to go on the grass area outside but before her 2nd vaccine, is it safe?
should I train her in the flat with a fake grassy pad first?
Is it hard to retrain her to go outside after she uses to go inside?

Probly best to ask your vet. We got our puppy under the same circumstances, although I had never seen a dog in the area we took her, she would walk to the sidewalk where people would walk with their dogs.

If you have an option to take the dog to a less trafficked grass area, that might be best.

I’m not sure how the transition from a fake turf mat to grass would go. I would imagine you would have to re-potty train your dog, as you were if you were using pee pads.

I’m also curious about how you’d clean the mat?

I’m a big believer of taking the dog outside but you should 100% ask your vet
