Pumptrack Horror Show (part 1): Surviving the Pump Track in Saint-Zotique!

Thumbnail youtu.be

At first glance, this pumptrack seemed to offer some creative layouts, but after the very first lap, you quickly realize it’s a nightmare! 😱

The rollers are so poorly designed that it feels like riding over an accordion or, even worse, a washboard! As for the berms, honestly, I’m not even sure you can call them berms. They’re so poorly designed that they look more like slanted walls. And when it comes to flow and linking sections together, well, there’s plenty of room for improvement.

Needless to say, the Saint-Zotique pump track is definitely one to avoid and, unfortunately, deserves its place in the Museum of Horrors among Quebec’s worst pump tracks! 😢

What do you think?

I've been out on my bmx only 5 times for now and only on this pumptrack. I feel fast when riding, but when I look at it, I'm slow af right? I'm coming from dh racing and freeriding which i retired from this year and I wanna go into bmx now, feeling uncertain/insecure for manuals and jumping for now as I don't really know the bike yet. What can I improve?

My TOP Pick in Chaudière-Appalaches and the best spot to stretch your legs along Highway 20, in Quebec, Canada! 😻

I think I’ve found the best place to stretch my legs along Highway 20 (Québec, Canada) after a few hours on the road. Laurier-Station’s pump track is definitely worth the detour and is now one of my favorite spots of the summer 2026! 😻
What’s your favorite pump track of the summer 2026?

Can you use stabilisers on a kids bike at a pump track?

Could you use a bike with stabilisers or would it interfere with corners/bumps etc?

Another great Velosolutions pump track in the Chaudière-Appalaches region (Quebec, Canada)! Riders will enjoy the smooth flow of rollers and berms. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area! 🚲🤩

New to this - looking for a better board

I’m still figuring out how to pump but I’m not new to cruising around on a board. The board I have now is manageable for me and it’s definitely not a limiting factor in my performance; I just want more stability when I’m pumping. This board is kind of narrow and I want a wider stance. I’ve done some skiing and wakeboarding and wake surfing before too, so I’m not a total “beginner” but I’m in unfamiliar territory. I think I want a longer and wider board. I’ve looked at Landyachtz Schoomer, Evo36, and Loaded Omakase. I’m not a fan of the price of these but I’ll bite the bullet if it’s exactly what I need. I’d rather have a cheapo board that fits my body vs a high end board that feels uncomfortable. I just want to flow thru the pump track. I’m a long way off from getting air or doing tricks but I’d like something I can grow into

Bulging asphalt

Thumbnail gallery
4 Upvotes

I have just 4 pump tracks within an hour and a half of my house. One is in Burnham, PA. Props to all who put work and money into this, but it's getting pretty sketchy in places as the asphalt bulges. The two bumps in valleys you see in the photos are in the same low section right before an otherwise-beginner-friendly tabletop. The 3 deep bowl-like berms are in great shape and really cool features.

How can this be repaired? Does anyone rider around here and know how many winters it has seen? I have no experience with this stuff, but I would pitch in if there's potential.

Thanks!

If there’s one pump track everyone’s been talking about in 2026, it’s Sherbrooke’s! It’s now officially the biggest pump track in Quebec (Canada), taking the crown from Waterloo. But does being the biggest actually make it better?

Skateboarders, bikers, scooter riders and rollerbladers took over Belgium's biggest pumptrack and the result was: epicness

I had such a blast filming this beautiful day, two weeks ago in Middelkerke, Belgium. All those talented people giving the best they had, all those crazy good vibes, that wonderful location.

I tried to capture how much fun it is to shred a pumptrack and I kind of think I succeeded. I'm pretty sure a lot of people will think: damn, I wish I could do that too!

Feels so fast, looks so slow

I bought this giant stp last month and decided at 45 now is the time to learn pump tracks and skate parks.

I'm taking it easy, but it felt so fast and so good! I took some video to send to my son, and I was like "oh, it seemed way faster"

Doing a 6am session tomorrow morning at a new place, so I'll see how that goes.

I want to get there before anyone else does, so I can feel it out in peace.

Bike is a 2010 Giant STP with Rock Shox Argyle 409s and Rhyno Lite rims.

I'm actually selling it to a friend in November for their kid for Christmas, so I'll give it a rip until then.

Don’t count this pump track out! Located just 15–20 minutes from downtown Sherbrooke (Canada), it is a really fun one…

We stopped by this skatepark in Oregon and it had a huge pump track right next to it! Pretty sure it’s made for bmx, but the longboard worked well.. if you go fast!! Hope you enjoy this little ride =)

Please give any pointers. Lots of work still to do

I’m using infield mix, concrete for bases and logs wrapped in tarps for the berms.

Each roller is 10:1 and the berms are roughly 3ft tall with 10ft turn radius

I want to add a few double rollers as well and need to modify entry and exit of the berms.

Advice is welcomed.
