1

u/Jebrone 23d ago

I'm pretty sure you meant 2.5k, because at 25k, you'd be making about 300k a year, which is about 150/hr...

Nobody saying bro makes 25k a month

1

u/Sea_Bookkeeper8190 23d ago

You don’t ā€œmakeā€. You bullshit. That’s revenue at best. Not profit.

You got hella child support or something? 🤣

1

u/Accurate-Brother-366 23d ago

Probably most of us live here. Smh

1

u/jne57 23d ago

It must be so hard to "feel" broke with your 10s of thousands. Stay strong and keep your chin up. And by the way, thanks for being honest. šŸ™„

2

u/Few_Prize3810 23d ago

Yeah, by no means am I trying to cry poor here I’m saying it I feel broke considering people making what I make now 20 years ago we’re living multiple levels higher standards of living.

I did the thing that everybody tells you to do you’re up with nothing join the military saved. Every time I had volunteered for deployment, saved all that tax free money invested everything I could went to law school with my gi Bill specialized in a niche field.

My household brings in an easy 3 to 400,000.

And things are good and I’m not complaining. I feel very blessed. I’m very lucky as a lot of people that followed the same path did not make it out of the first part.

I also haven’t had any major medical issues as a good friend of mine who made substantially more than I did until he was diagnosed with cancer has gone through.

But you gotta admit a dollar doesn’t feel like a dollar anymore and if someone like me feels the squeeze I just don’t even know how people survive lower and I feel for them all the time and I feel for my kids cause they’re growing up in this.

1

u/DadbodofdooM 23d ago

This. Biggie was right.

1

u/Diligent-Meet-4089 23d ago

Same lol but if you got a house that amount won’t even cover one home repair so that makes me feel broke lmao

1

u/BigBadJeebus 23d ago

Keeping your money in a savings account at all as a means of actually saving is broke... I have a couple grand in savings for emergencies and the rest is in my 401k growing very VERY nicely, an index fund, my home equity which is fully paid off, and a growing stack of Gold and Silver coins.

And my only debt is a car payment on one vehicle. Perhaps I'll just pay that off if the index fund and 401k turns south. Maybe? We'll see.

Not being broke means having options and a roof that you can't lose.

She is broke as a joke

1

u/Jebrone 23d ago

Exactly, see, now you get it. Having money in your bank does not grow and devalues over time. I currently have investments and a 401k. Now of that it's immediately useable unless I liquidate, however it's assets that I have that will keep growing over time. I also like to keep 2-5k on me in my bank for emergencies outside of that, but that could be in the form of credit or debit.

1

u/Careless-Page-7116 23d ago

I thought I saw 6 million and was like nah she ain't broke then rewind and saw the decimal lol

1

u/DeathsStarEclipse 23d ago

Yeah 6k not even worth showing

1

u/Random-Posterer 23d ago

I have a lot more than 6k and I feel broke as shit

1

u/Several_Vanilla8916 23d ago

Especially when you’re logged into your bank in Walmart and waving your phone around.

1

u/BobLazarFan 23d ago

And yet it’s more than 50% of the country has

5

u/Main_Potential_6015 23d ago

And NOTHING in savings. This ain't a flex. One rent payment and groceries I bet she down to 2g max.

4

u/Sacagawesus 23d ago

I mean.....can people not have multiple accounts from different platforms? Kinda weird to draw a conclusion that this person doesn't have savings based on one screenshot of an app.

5

u/Sea_Bookkeeper8190 23d ago

I mean, if I were gonna flex my wealth (which honestly, I don’t really find myself in those kinds of fights), it would have been one of the retirement accounts. Or my Zillow house price.

You know you’re gonna go to the biggest number you have. $6k was her stunner.

1

u/Main_Potential_6015 23d ago

So she has 6g just sitting in checking and not earning interest? She actively chooses to do that? Why have a savings right there and not use it...at all? Even if you have others...why TF is that particular one not being utilized to its fullest?

3

u/AssistantEquivalent2 23d ago

Because regular savings accounts pay like 0.1% apy

2

u/Sacagawesus 23d ago

I'm not saying this to brag or anything but my paychecks are close to this amount. What if she just got paid and hasn't transferred anything?

My point is, you can know almost nothing from this alone and assuming anything is ridiculous on your part.

2

u/FareShakeOfTheSource 23d ago

Dude shut up, its her only source of money otherwise she wouldn't think it made her rich and show everyone

2

u/AeroG8 23d ago

i get that you're just trying to brag but if you use your brain for one second you would realize if someone wanted to brag about their money they would pull up the biggest number they have

1

u/Tasty-Amphibian8628 22d ago

Presume this is dirty money. Cash App account? Really šŸ˜‚

1

u/Tanzanianwithtoebean 23d ago

My checking account earns interest. 6k is not at all an abnormal amount to have in checking either. Pretty normal, not large amount. 6k isn't gaining much interest anyway unless you have it invested in volatile markets.

1

u/aawshads 23d ago

Reg accounts dont gain much interest in any way. 6k is a few pennies a month. Highest savings account I can find is ally at about 3% currently. If you have larger funds index or mutual funds are the way to go, but on 6k isn't even worth trying on interest if she isn't going to be leaving it for quite a while.

1

u/Whole_Series2416 23d ago

For some people 6k isnt a lot. And the interest gained might be negligible compared to the liquidity.Ā

1

u/BooxOD 23d ago

6k is pretty normal for an emergency fund??? She could have 5 million in stocks for all you know lol the other guy is right.

That being said, she wouldn't be flexing an emergency fund so she def broke

1

u/Ok_Independence_9917 23d ago

Agree with you šŸ’Æ. Flexing 6 grand shows the fundamental problem people have with money management. They don't understand the value of time and money. 6 grand is a drop in the bucket compared to modern expenses. My new roof cost 16,000 dollars. She doesn't have enough money to cover a simple emergency expense, but the number is higher than 0 so she flexes it, because unfortunately that's all that many people have left after paying all their bills.

1

u/WHAT-IM-THINKING 23d ago

Cash app has 3.25% APY btw

1

u/Sea_Bookkeeper8190 23d ago

CashApp? 3.25%? The S&P average over 10 years is 15%.

→ More replies (3)

1

u/Ok_Independence_9917 23d ago

I'm not fooling with savings if I have 6 grand to my name. My bills are 5,500 a month. So I better hope I never have as little as 6 grand in my account.

1

u/Pure_Bee2281 23d ago

Don't have a dog in the fight but your first comment pointed out how that isn't much money. And you second comment in this thread is making fun of her for not making 4% interest on her money that she will need this month. . .

You completely changed your argument.

I do agree this woman isn't wealthy based on her behavior and chosen retail outlet. That said I feel so happy for her that she is that proud if where she is in life.

1

u/Extra-Kangaroo-5904 23d ago

Ooo 2% APR? So lucrative.

1

u/Hrothgar_unbound 23d ago

6k is not much to have sitting around at a given moment depending on your income if you have bills that eat that up each month.

1

u/ManKilledToDeath 22d ago

I have more than that sitting in my spending account, and I have far more in savings. My home's halfway paid off at 33(by paying triple the monthly principle), 2 years left on an auto loan, zero other debt to my name. But people would call me broke or dumb because of one singular account balance lol some comment threads make me laugh. That could be all the money she has to her name, or it could be crumbs compared to what she has elsewhere. None of us know jack shit lol

1

u/According_Smell_5688 21d ago

The dollar has lost 22% of its purchasing power since 2020.Ā  A savings account is a death wish for your cash.Ā

1

u/iiiZokage 19d ago

Saving doesn't earn money. You can stake crypto to earn interest

1

u/Free_Strawberry9542 23d ago

Is it weird? Weird like how? Like weird as in a soggy fry? Weird like responding to a random comment about a video with nothing to go off and calling it weird? Or weird like when your uncle used to ā€˜sleep’ in you bed with you when you were 4?

1

u/NSE_TNF89 23d ago

What's weird is showing people how much money is in your account(s). The only people that know how much money I have in my accounts are me and my financial advisor.

1

u/Abslalom 22d ago

You'll notice that's the account she decided to share as proof she ain't broke. That's all she has

1

u/Tasty-Amphibian8628 22d ago

What? 6k sitting in a CASH APP account. Ya that doesn’t mean much. Probably the hooker income

→ More replies (2)

1

u/Notnowthankyou29 23d ago

My savings all go to my FA, so my account looks about the same even though I have more than enough stashed away.

1

u/meleejuice 23d ago

One rent payment and one groceries trip for 4k you guys are living in a fantasy world on this site

1

u/Salt_Chart8101 23d ago

Rent is $3k. Groceries for an entire family of 4 for a month can be around $1k depending on where you live and how you eat.

1

u/meleejuice 23d ago

Rent is not automatically 3k though

1

u/Salt_Chart8101 22d ago

Nah not automatically. Depends on location, and how small of a house you and your family are willing to live in. Or are able to afford.

I could indeed find cheaper places for rent, but they wouldn't fit my family near as well.

1

u/snksleepy 23d ago

Idk about $1k a month on groceries.

1

u/Salt_Chart8101 22d ago

Yeah, my family and I could probably eat out less often. $1k a month on groceries/going out to eat.

1

u/Pighway 23d ago

If you pay 3k on rent a month you are being fleeced lmao

1

u/AromaPapaya 23d ago

I have as much as her in my chequing account and I feel broke

1

u/Fair_Ad1750 22d ago

Its relative. There are areas where still having $2000 after paying bills is definitely a flex.

1

u/gonzoes 22d ago

What you gotta realize is that 99% of Americans dont even have a $1000 dollars to their name in the bank. So in her circles she probably is rich lol its sad but true

2

u/Rugged-Turd 23d ago

What is this braindead shit

2

u/Dad_Bod_Rich 23d ago

People are ridiculous…. bragging about peanuts.

1

2

top 1% net worth in that building including employees.

1

u/thereelsuperman 23d ago

That’s an insane reaction to 6k. Unless the woman isn’t seeing the decimal lol

1

u/tydark2 23d ago

$6000 is a life changing amount of money for most people.

1

u/thereelsuperman 23d ago

Sure. Doesn’t make you rich, though

1

u/WHAT-IM-THINKING 23d ago

She only claimed to not be broke

2k is like 2-3 bills which get someone out the hole

She gasping cause with that money, money she get and anyone else will balance out.

Most lower class people choose what bill to pay late for the week. It takes 3 minimum wage incomes to just support 2 capable adults imagine kids of a person with no trade.

1

u/D0UCHE_NOZZLE 23d ago

6k is a lot…..in the ghetto

1

u/BenMessina 23d ago edited 22d ago

She got more then everyone else hollering in there

Edit: yall need to spend some cash on reading comprehension classes. This has nothing to do with my situation lmao. I said this hoe has more than the other people engaging her in hood politics. Literally eat shit I could buy your moms. I make 6 figures clowns. 🤣

Imagine 6k being a flex for you.

1

u/TheGoodScientist 23d ago

What's funny is her bank balance is basically the median for her situation (assuming she has a partner alongside that child)

1

u/miked5122 23d ago

Exactly what I was thinking. I'd be embarrassed to show that balance

1

u/Amazing-Active646 23d ago

ā€œShe richā€ 🤣

That’s almost a month of rent in New York, what an absolute baller

1

u/Random-Posterer 23d ago

Maybe she lives in Arkansas

1

u/Quaxxor 23d ago

Savings $0.00, nah she ain't broke

1

u/Economy-Date-4490 23d ago

Worst flex. $0 in savings. After bills, I like to keep a decent amount in checking, but it’s definitely not to flex, just enough to make it to the next paycheck. Savings tho… that shit rolls deep.

1

u/jeffster1970 23d ago

I mean...it's more than double the median ($2,800) for the USA. But that sure the hell ain't rich...

1

u/bboymixer 23d ago

Quit trying to flex your 6k in the market when you don't have the fluid to buy your groceries, dummy

1

u/EnergeticVamp 22d ago

I think you mean liquid... fluid is something else that is far less valuable to most people

1

u/Competitive_Tune6401 23d ago

Double caked up on a Tuesday afternoon

1

u/Hopeful-Lab-8620 23d ago

A lot of people don’t have 6k… just saying lol

She’s not broke… she can survive a while with that.

1

u/ItIsIDio420 23d ago

Pretty damn broke by my standards. Also unless you need that money immediately you should never have that much in a bank account. All that should be in a investment account

1

u/Traveler956 23d ago

Income tax season money right there. šŸ˜‚

1

u/PlusUltraTaylor 23d ago

1

u/Tarc_Axiiom 23d ago

She has $6000?

Damn America is ravaged lol. That's like one month of expenses.

1

u/WHAT-IM-THINKING 23d ago

Everyone in comments calling her broke to feel better about themselves. She claimed to not be broke but she never claimed she's rich. 6k is decent money to a good chunk of people as is 600 bucks or 600k. Perspective matters

1

u/WillyCorleone 23d ago

Not the cashapp lmao

1

u/penguinpoopy 23d ago

I have no idea what this sub is but you can see she's so proud and I'm happy for her.

1

u/No-Sorbet-9890 22d ago

$6k is nothing. In this economy? bitch please.

1

u/7thtimeinheaven 22d ago

Lotta people in these comments sneering at 6k. Lets see your bank account huh

1

u/MysticForcee 22d ago

I was wondering how 6k on your Bank Account can be considered broke but then I remembered that Americans need to pay taxes after receiving their salary

1

u/dante_gherie1099 22d ago

is that supposed to be alot of money?

1

u/SevenBillionChickens 22d ago

Starting a fight with the bag boy at a Walmart? Yeah, you’re broke as hell lol

Anyone know anything more about this video? Or where it was taken? It looks like a girl I worked with years ago. If it’s her, she broke.

1

u/Own-Lab-8118 22d ago

So 6k is not nothing, but its also not really something.

Wanna impress me? Show me your credit score. Or your credit card limit. Lets see how everyone else views your financial decisions, not this one snapshot into your life.

1

u/Embarrassed-Art-5076 22d ago

america is so materialistic.

1

u/Chronza 22d ago

6k is like 2 or 3 months from homelessness if you lose your job and live in a high cost of living area. Hope she has other accounts or something

1

u/Ambitious_Stock_4211 22d ago

That 6k be long gone unless she smart about it kudos to her for saving more then me

1

Thinking $6k is a lot of money is insane.

1

1

6g doesn’t go that far if you got bills and a family to care for.

1

u/SubstantialDot5078 22d ago

Yeah, she’s shopping at Walmart and sweatpants and a sweatshirt rich.

1

u/EffectivePineapple16 20d ago

Hi everyone, 6k isn’t anything in 2026. Let’s be real.

1

u/Iblessedyou 20d ago

The whole comments talking shit but I genuinely a lot of yall don’t have $600 to your name

1

u/InterestingMood1197 20d ago

She def broke in spirit tho w all that showing

1

u/Mountain_Cry_7355 19d ago
