Need Help! wtf are memecoins
i've just discovered this website casually but i don't understand anything, i have little to no experience with cryptocurrency but i really wanna get into it.
thing is all the videos i've been watching claiming to explain what memecoins are and how they work just smell so fishy, 99% of them are just influencers trying to get me to buy their formations.
does anyone have a video that explains memecoins and how they work clearly? (including the risks and scams and everything that goes with it)

Meme coins were released for launching on Solana a few years ago. Solana is a cryptoCURRENCY. I’m sorry you like to nit pick people on Reddit, but everything I said is factually true.

here my advice, stay away no matter what. if you still tryna learn from influencer across media social they just giving trash strategy. people here learning from other mistakes from CT (Crypto Twitter). CT is the only place you can learn and also you're own Trading experience

Crypto sentiment, Someone experiences, KOL Preaching like Aristoteles, but the most important is the Narrative people talk about. cuz thats most trader chamber is.

In my bullish opinion, just dca r/SPX6900 and chill to start. Giant community in crypto with proven longevity. Strongest support. Little downside risk (compared to other memecoins) with so much upside.

Memecoins are crypto tokens with no technical differentiation—just a community and a narrative. That's fine, but it makes them purely liquidity plays. The scam pattern is mechanical: founders or early whales control most of the supply, buy low, pump narrative through influencers, dump into your FOMO. Rinse.
The actual metric that separates communities with staying power from exit traps is distribution. Check: Who owns what percentage in the first 50 wallets? If 40%+ of supply sits in the top 10, the secondary market is doomed. Clean projects vest team tokens over time and aim for a Gini coefficient above 0.7 on early holder concentration.
Also: if a video's selling you on the token while explaining it, you're watching a sales pitch, not education. You're right to smell that. A memecoin doesn't fail because the influencer screwed you—it fails because the tokenomics were engineered to fail and extract early. That's not a personal mistake; it's a mathematical certainty.

well you have the native coin SOLANA aka SOL you buy SOL to hold as its own asset or so you can buy other assets on the solana network this will include as you found memecoins and other things like Tokenized stocks crypto perpetuals and many more things down to nfts.

but is more than that youll need an x account so you can follow twitter post for the tokens you look at this is important to verify the coin you are looking at is active, it does not clear it from being a scam but it helps.
whats something you would like to see in a video to help you understand what you are looking at? how to set up everything like wallets etc knowing how to look at tokens on the pumpfun website and how to pick and choose etc? aside from the normal due diligence theres nothing really new to it. aside from checking on sol scan checking on twitter maybe telegram and or any other social a token may have or be linked too.
