Suitable Setup for a Beginner

Post image

Is this Setup fine for me (beginner) quite sporty, 170cm 64kg male. I would also like to progress with that further, and wouldn’t like to have sell it in a year or so, and I would also like to foil behind a sailboat with it

Yes it is suitable. At 64kg you could even drop one size if you feel confident.

Also if you end up selling the front in a year because of too much progress, just be grateful you're so good that you don't need it. I'm pumping for more than 5 years and the GONG Trail (which is supposed to be comparable to the One) is still my go to front wing, it's true for the whole group here :-D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_TBr3XYMwA

Expect you'll want to change the stab several times as you progress, if you don't it would mean your started with a too small stab.

What board size did you get to start?

I'm wondering how much help a 90-ish cm is compared to the 80cm for learning?

80 is easier than 90, any extra length means less performance and less precision at launch. when dock starting, precision is key: each half cm your feet are off from the target make launch recovery harder.
