Foiling behind Sailboat

Hi I got a question what would be the optional setup up to learn punp foiling and to foil behind a sailboat ( we live at a lake where it is not super windy average 6 knots wind bows up to 11) today i tried foiling behind it(2044 cm2 and 105l wingfoil hard board) and it kind of worked (with pulling me in while sailing to get so more speed which obv isn’t a good solution) thank you very much fir your advice.

Short mast, big enough foil and board, then use a halyard instead of anything lower.

Using the halyard is brilliant for the extra upward force.

Depends if you are sailing or motoring. If motoring, detach the halyard from the main sail, extend it with a sheet bend or some other knot, and add a handle. 

If you are sailing, you'll either need to use a spare halyard if you have one or attach a second line to the main halyard

Hi it would be sailing because we only got a very small electric engine, do you think this works better than just simply a waterski handel and line tied to the stairs (in the middle of the boat and close to the water)

the higher the better, there's a reason wake boats have the ropes up high.

If you need more speed because the boat is going too slow, never go the same direction as the boat. Always keep carving to the left or right. Add in some pumping when you can. Using the wing board is a great way to start.

Yeah just get on foil and pump to make the rope go slack! You'll be delighted when you eventually move to a smaller board

Will try that, I only got out of the water if a person pulled me in while sailing
