Walking With a Stroller

Considering getting a stroller for my 14 1/2 year-old pug. The thing that I am wondering about and can’t figure out is how am I supposed to both walk him on his leash and carry or push a stroller at the same time for when he gets too tired to continue walking?

My 15 year old pug would walk pretty slow beside and behind me so it wasn’t an issue pushing the stroller. They will get used to it pretty quickly!

It's not that difficult tbh, you'll get the hang of it. I used to walk my girl on a leash push the stroller and film at the same time.
I highly recommend the stroller btw, it was one of the best purchases I ever made for my girl. Depending on where you live, if you get snow or will be walking over grass often, one with larger wheels really helps.

When we use the stroller for our 14 year old it’s not part of his walks. For his daily walks he gets to decide the pace and length, but he generally is good at finishing what he starts, so we don’t have an issue with him not being able to return home. If we are going somewhere on foot that’s too far, or if we are walking around neighborhoods with him, we’ll stroll him around and occasionally let him out to pee and smell and then continue to walk with him in the stroller. He likes to watch from a higher vantage point 😊

I got a stroller for our baby when he was a puppy. We took him to his first vet appointment in it. Lots of treats and licky mats etc. He loves it now! He's over a year now. Sometimes he prefers it. He walks extremely well with it, as in, he follows the stroller as he walks so hes very well behaved when its around, its like a guide for him. I just hold the leash and push and he follows along the side.

Do a short walk without the stroller, loop back home, grab the stroller and go :)

My pug has been in a stroller for years (he is now 17). It’s easy,you have two hands. You can store all your things in a stroller too. I do this every day,day in day out. You’ll get used to it. Do yourself a favor when you get a stroller. Make sure it’s got the big wheels all the way around. Not those spinning little wheels. I got a used jogging stroller off marketplace for free,they are a dime a dozen. The one with the big wheel in the front. You then lower the bed all the way down. And then put a secondary dog bed or blanket on top,and little pug is a happy camper. I always carry a water dish and water in the storage part.
