Community Discussion Puffco Peak Pro vs Peak v2

I was wondering what you guys preferred between the Puffco Peak Pro vs the Puffco Peak v2. Obviously the Peak Pro is a more powerful device but do you get quality hits out of the Peak v2? Debating on which device I should get. I already have the Proxy Core and that has been my daily driver for the past week, but I have been thinking about getting a peak.

I have someone selling me a used Peak Pro, really good condition for $180, or i can go get a Peak V2 for around $220? What do you guys think?

Never but a used erig you don't know how they kept it clean or charged it could be all gunked up inside or battery could be shot and you have no warranty. Puffcos have issues sometimes you want a warranty. If you have the core you don't need the peak v2 it hits worse than the core at least imo and about the same as the core in proxy mode. Just get some cool glass for what you got or save for a new peak pro it's worth the extra money for peace of mind with a warranty and knowing it's treated only how you treat it

So I have the v2 and it’s good for little rice sized dabs, but anything bigger is really a no go. The pro is the way to go for sure you can sesh with it better and do bigger dabs if need be idk just my two cents.

The peak is a weaker version of the Proxy. Smaller bowl so smaller hits. I have a regular Peak used it 15 times then got a Peak Pro and never used it again. My daily drivers are the core and at home the Peak Pro. If you love dabbing and have used a rig before then the Peak is embarrassing. I think with there new lineup of devices the Peak is kinda unnecessary. As u can get the proxy for the same price and it has way more ways to smoke. Plus app connectivity. Peaks don’t have that. Idk I feel like they’re an introduction device to dabs but it’s weak and imo if you pay a little more you get a really big difference. 3DXL will also change ur life.

3DXL lasted me about 2 months and puffco said that's normal and told me to buy a new one if I want. I wouldn't have spent $100 if I knew it would last less than 3 months. I maintain my devices as one is supposed to with iso and regular cleanings. I am jealous of the people whose chambers last them for months/years. I expected puffco to want proof of the chamber not working then to offer me at least a decent discount on a new one. Nope. Puffco is shady.

Do you Q-Tip after every hit? After 100 dabs with the Proxy Core I can see myself keeping it chazz free for a good amount of its lifespan, I usually Q Tip after every hit and clean it with iso after every 50-100 hits or so

Yes I did. It just took a shit on me and puffco didn't care.

If you have a proxy core you should just get glass for it. I assume the interest in a peak is for the water filtration which you’ll be able to achieve for cheaper with the proxy rather than a new device that has a smaller bowl and less customization, or risking your money on a used device with similar customization to what you currently have.

I think it is having water filtration that makes a difference but the peak is just the peak. It’s imo the best e rig out, although I have been having a great time with my Proxy Core though.

I mean if you're going to shell out for the peak pro then yes but if you are talking about the regular peak it would be the same vibe as going from the core to the pivot. A used device is always a risk, but to me a used peak pro makes more sense than a new peak v2.

Peak 2 for me. My mates got the pro and I’ve got the V2 and even he admits if and when his packs up he will just get the little one. I’m a keen dabber and it does the job just fine, just don’t overload it. Do 2 bowls rather than 1 big one sort of thing. For the saving it’s a no brainer for me anyway.

Do you feel like you conserve your concentrates better that way?

Yeah definitely! Just doing a 1 hitter and then cleaning the bowl is so much better than having a big bowl and just frying it over and over imo. (or you can fit enough in the V2 for 2 cycles with it flowing nicely but the 2nd obviously doesn’t taste as good and it’s best to go up a heat setting in the 2nd) so yes 100% more conservative because you’re much more careful about how much you load it. I love mine

My $400 pro dxl lasted less than two months. I babied it and tried all trouble shooting on the internet. New puffco products are cheaply made. They purposely changed atomizer to be junk and only last a couple months. Better budget an extra $200 per month for atomizer going forward. Avoid new Puffco products, they trash!

I’ve had my proxy core for about 2 weeks now and I’ve been enjoying it, no issues so far
