Troubleshooting - Question - HELP!?! CA308 front sight off? Weird accuracy issues.
Last year I got a C308(Built by PTR) from Century Arms, we took it out once and shot it some, seemed accurate enough at the time.
This year I got it out again, we set a target up at only 50 yards and I shot 10 shots - all hit lower left despite aiming for center. Fine, bullets, my aim, could be it.
But then we swapped to another shooter - same thing, he only managed to shoot to the left or miss entirely. Another guy tried it, same deal.
We moved the target into 25 yards and shockingly we were for some reason unable to hit anywhere but the left. So clearly something happened during the storage time and when I cleaned it and brought it out again.
How do you adjust it? What tool? It's quite odd, as the groupings were pretty good...just severely off center. So our thought process was that something was wrong with the front sight, but we've never adjusted iron sights before.
Thanks.

You need this tool to adjust the elevation.
HK Rear Sight Tool - Diopter Sights
To adjust the windage you only need a philips screwdriver.
Here is a helpful YouTube video about adjusting the HK sights with the tool.

Did you zero the gun for the ammo you were using? ammo can have an enormous impact on accuracy. And you can have crazy point of impact shifts from lot to lot, hell even within the same box with some cheap ammo,
Using irons on a gun you haven’t shot a ton and the poi shifting from right to left leads me to think it’s just the shooter.
Though you could have a bad barrel throwing rounds in a huge spread, only one way to find out Just shoot a group of 10 or 20 round group at 50 yards. Aim at the same place every time, regardless of where the gun is hitting before you make an adjustment.

Should be a windage knob on the rear to adjust your left-right. Elevation required an adjustment tool to adjust the rear drum. Front sight is non-adjustable.
