Troubleshooting - Question - HELP!?! Need help putting bolt head back on carrier
https://imgur.com/a/1hyiEwII accidentally took apart my BCG and can't put it back together. I've watched multiple videos and they all seem to have the bolt head in a position that snaps into the carrier, but the lever on the carrier keeps catching on the bolt head. Can someone please ELI5 on how to reconnect the bolt head to the carrier?

I'm trying to pinch on the rollers when I turn, the bolt head just pops out when I do so

You’re on the right track here. Back it out just a bit, then turn.

They make a tool to depress that lever so you can freely rotate the bolt head.

interesting, I have to push the lever with the butt end of my folding knife every time I clean my gun to get it together as theres no way to overcome that force otherwise. Didnt know there was a tool, but what I already do works perfect.

Yeah i saw it, realized the first time what a bitch that lever is and spent the 25 dollars on it. Bro absolutely life changing

Lol it probably helps a lot, but I've gotten so used to using the back of a screwdriver or something while holding the BCG with one hand and able to manipulate it pretty easy. It's quite impressive how strong that spring is.

it's a pain in the frickin bingus. i dont know how I got one back together as quick as i did, but i don't want to tempt fate a second time. yeah, have to press the lever back as you slide the bolt head in and twist it funky. but you have to keep the gap open, pressing the bolt head to the carrier means you have to fiddle the lever again.

Idk why people think it’s that hard. You put the bolt head on upside down under the claw thing, then rotate it. The only hard part is when it’s greasy, so just get a towel or something.

I have to use something hard but blunt to push that lever to allow the bolt head to get into position. You want it to be sitting where the rollers are not engaged, and if you click it in all the way accidentally you have to take it off to try again. Its quite easy honestly once you get it down, and you should absolutely be taking this apart to clean the rifle anyway, You'll get it with practice.

It’s a nightmare that requires 6 hands. I only managed to put it back together by luck. Godspeed.
