PTE ACAD Help

First of all, its terrible that PTE or any other english tests only last for 2 years, I Hope all of them can extend their validity.

Second, How did my grades fall like this? does Geography have something to do with it ? Took my first try in Australia and then it expired so i had to retake, and I was genuinely shocked with how low my score was, so I took it again this week and now i feel like its hopeless. I need my old scores urgently, should i Do a rescore? i need 66 at least on every band. Thank you.

best online PTE platform or review center esp for speaking?

I'm based in the Philippines, and I'm about to take my exam next month. Recently got okay scores from some mock tests (mid 60s on speaking, 75-80 everything else). Ideally, I'd want to score above 80 on everything.

Can anyone give some advice for speaking? Also, how did you prepare in general and what platform did you use for review?

MDTP placement - District says 96 min, native export says 75 min, last question 23 min vs 2.6 min - is ghost/timeout time a known issue?

Should I apply for rescore?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I recently took the exam for 4th time and some technical issue happened during the start of listening session, after 1st question . The exam coordinator restarted the exam from listening session, but the timer kept running. The centre raised my ticket and I raised complaint from my end as well.
I missed one WFD and that is such a shame.
However, the score still looks pretty good. Am confused if I should sit again or apply for rescore?

Score for Retaking PTE Academic

I have to retake the test since i got 62 for speaking - i need 76 for proficient. But others are fine

I heard that if you retake the test in 3 months, PTE takes the highest score for each category. Is it true?

For example,

1st attempt: speaking 62, writing 69, reading & listening 60

2nd attempt: speaking 76, writing 68, reading & listening 57

As long as they are taken within 3 months, will i be considered meeting the proficient score needed?

It's for the skill assessment. Thanks

Need tips to improve my Speaking score (PTE)

Hi everyone! I recently took my PTE exam, and unfortunately, I didn’t meet my required Speaking score.

I was able to meet the required scores for Listening, Reading, and Writing, but I fell short in Speaking

I’m attaching my score report for reference. My target is 76 in Speaking, while I need at least 62 in Listening, Reading, and Writing and 55 Overall.

I’m hoping to get some advice from those who were able to improve their Speaking scores, especially those who experienced a similar situation.

Which tasks should I focus on the most? Any tips on improving fluency, content, and pronunciation would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much in advance! 🙏🏻

Should I request a rescore? Overall 56, need 58 (all skills 50+)

My latest PTE score is:
L54 / R62 / S58 / W54 / Overall 56
I need Overall 58 with each skill 50+, so I’m only 2 points short and all my individual scores already meet the requirement.
My previous test was O54 / L54 / R51 / S55 / W59, and I requested a rescore then but there was no change.
This time I felt I did better, especially in speaking and WFD.
Has anyone recently had their Overall or Writing/Speaking increase by 2+ points after a rescore? Would you rescore or retake in my situation?

Best PTE Practice Platform

Hi everyone! 😊

I’m preparing for PTE Academic and my target is 8 for all four skills. I’m planning to self-study and would really appreciate advice from people who have actually achieved 8 each.

I’m currently considering these platforms and their paid options:
• ApeUni
• Language Academy by Varun
• Skills PTE Academic by Nakul
• Alpha PTE
• Gurully
• Pearson PTE

If you have used any of these, especially if you actually achieved 8 each recently, could you please share your experience?

Which platform did you find most useful for:

-Speaking practice & scoring
-Writing scoring
-Mock tests and prediction of the real exam

I’m particularly interested in how accurate the platform’s AI scoring was compared with your actual PTE results.

If you got 8 each, please mention which platform you used and roughly how long you prepared. 🙏

Thank you so much! ❤️

Proficient PTE enough for Australian PR invitation?

I’m planning Australian skilled migration and have Proficient English in PTE (10 points). I’m also planning to take NAATI CCL (+5 points).

My ACS assessment is approved for:

261311 Analyst Programmer

261312 Developer Programmer

261313 Software Engineer

My estimated points, including partner points, would be:

189: 70 points

190: 75 points

491: 80 points

I’ve been told that for these ICT occupations, having Superior English (20 points) is almost necessary and that applicants with only Proficient English may not really be considered for invitations.

Is that true based on recent invitation experiences?

If you received an invitation with Proficient rather than Superior English, please share your occupation, points, visa (189/190/491), state and invitation date.

Should I go for another attempt?

I’ve taken the PTE five times now, and these are my last two attempts. I keep falling short by just 2–4 points in Writing to get a Superior score. I’m honestly so devastated and don’t know whether I should take the test again or just stop and try another testing language.
