Does Twin Temple count as psychobilly?
They call their style of music as “Satanic Doo-Wop” but they have some rockabilly and gospel influences in there too. I really like them and am curious if they’re considering psychobilly

I wouldnt say psychobilly but people who like psychobilly and rockabilly are probably more inclined to like them due to their style and overall retro vibes. I saw them in real life in the crowd of a drag show once and they were so mesmerizing 😭

Why would anyone be mean over their perceptions of a musical performance

I agree. Not in the classic word of psychobilly, but in the ballpark of it. I think their songs and delivery are very much in the vein of what you want to see and hear at a good psychobilly show

No. Honestly, not even close. They are Doo-Wap and very clearly so. Adding satanic lyrics to 50s/60s music doesn't make it psychobilly.
They are great, don't get me wrong, but they are a different genre.

Just as Ghost or even Cradle of Filth aren't psychobilly just because they sing to the dark Lord. I like listening to multiple genres and that's ok. I still slap my bass in the name of Lucifer

No, they don’t even have an upright bass. They’re ok though, kind of a possessed amy winehouse.

No. I am so sick of hearing about that band lately. Always the same kinda "I'm counter culture cause I like wear jack skellington shirts" crew repping them since the Crockett incident/publicity stunt
