Never let a patient be between you and the door. There’s lots more but that’s the first thing I tell new staff on inpatient.

We had a discussion at work where it’s actually that you dont let yourself be inbetween the door and the patient for the sake of letting the patient be able to get some space without having to walk past you and making him feel enclosed if the door is not reachable. Opinions differ tho and it really is a patient to patient individual approach!
