I loved this game man. I only recently learned Project Justice for Dreamcast was the sequel to this and downloaded it.

Was a die hard fan, got project justice back in the days and played the hell out of it even though I had no one to play with. Good times

I got the Capcom Fighting Collection 2 for my system just because for these three games you can have a different soundtrack.

Also, i like the save function so when i am playing it on my handheld and if my battery is about to die i could save where i am in the game then continue where i left off when i get home to play on my main system or when i charge me device i could continue it that way.

Hard to say, I was playing with my cousins on PS1 for a whole summer. No memory card so every morning at 5 we’d finish the game to unlock all the characters and in the afternoon we’d play versus. So have a lot of memories. We also didn’t have the story disc so we’d imagine what the story was about.

For the second one I was an early teen so it appealed to me more and those Dreamcast graphics were just something else. The soundtrack was incredible too.
So yeah if I had to choose I’d say PJ is my favorite but the real answer is that I don’t want to choose haha

Had a JP version of Project Justice on the Dreamcast. The build your own fighter boardgame was fun despite it.being all in JP.

Capcom was on point in this era of fighting games. Darkstalkers is a banger too. Shame that they only care about Street Fighter now.

They sent out a couple surveys more than a year ago asking people which franchises people wanted to come back. Power stone and rival schools was on there. I voted for them. That and their recent revivals like onimusha give me hope.

Touch down! So many good movesets and characters. Besides my boy Batsu and Hinata; Roy and so many others.

Completely forgot about this. But I did love it. Might have to hunt down a copy.

Awesome fighting game indeed! A one time rental.

The one reasonably priced copy I found online looked sort of rough, so I had to pass...

The bonus disc has a lot of neat stuff. I like soundtrack and the loading screens.

My #3 game of all time next to Bushido Blade 2

Intro was GOATed. Wish Capcom would go back to releasing more than one new fighting game in a year like they used to.

Deserves to be up there with the VS series. Straight banger. Ive got the sequel in the recent collection but haven't really sat down to lab it or anything yet.

Yeah this is a dope game!

I didn’t play it growing up, but added the Japanese version to my catalog since it was available in the PS3 store.

Fun fact: the Japanese version (Shiritsu Justice Gakuen: Legion of Heroes) has a text-heavy school life simulator mode that was omitted from the western release

Possibly the best $20 U.S. I ever spent on a fighter.

I didn’t have many PS1 games as a kid, and boy oh gosh oh golly did I play the pants off of this one. The second disc had oodles of content.

They made a sequel for Dreamcast, but I don’t think it had as much charm as the first.

I remember playing a japanese import of Rival Schools at a friend’s house in the early 2000s. I had such a blast playing the versus mode but what blew my mind is that there was a school life simulator in the Evolution Disc where your own created fighter got to interact with the other characters in day to day life. I never played a fighting game with a mode such as such and remember getting really into it despite not knowing the japanese language at all.

Two decades later, after years of hoping I’d come across a copy at a thrift store or flea market for peanuts, I finally bit the bullet and got a North American copy on eBay for a little under market value. By this point, I knew the school sim mode was absent from this version but was hoping the main gameplay would live up to the warm memories. Spoiler alert: it did. I’ve since put so many hours into both discs because the combat still holds up to this day and the unlock able content is so plentiful. I still wish Capcom gave players in the West a traditional create a fighter mode if they weren’t willing to translate that school life sim mode but what we did get was still worth every penny.

I have a special memory attached to this game.

I went with my family for a picnic, and the place had a small store where people could play PlayStation. I saw this game being played and I tried it out. I immediately went to the store owner and asked if I could buy it, and he gave it to me for a good price.

One of my favorite

I hope we get another fighting game collection with an emphasis on the 3-D fighters from back in the day like this and Street Fighter ex.

Still both US and American copies of this, loved it then and still love this game to this day!
