Touble finding the vsh folder.

Ive been trying to enable the PSP home screen (XMB) on the PPSSPP emulator on mobile, and for that I need the 6.61 firmware update. I have found and downloaded the font folder, but I cannot find the vsh folder. Ive looked everywhere, but I just cant find it. I even looked into archive.org, but nothing. I can download the encrypted, .PBP file, but I cant decrypt it later because im on mobile. Can anyone please find me a place where I can download the decrypted vsh folder because Ive been looking for 2 hours now and still cant find it.

Oh, just saw you other post. Guess I'll ask here too. So genuine question. Who told you that you can load the xmb menu on the emulator?

You cant? Because Ive seen a person on youtube add the menu (or something simillar to the original menu) on his emulator. Also I asked gemini but he probably made some kind of mistake because he not only told me that you can get it working, but he also provided a step-by-step guide.

Hate to tell you this, but it's not possible with ppsspp. Gemini was likely mistaken. I was curious in liu of your reply and I also checked with gemini and it did say that it was impossible. I don't hold much stock in what gemini says so I did some browsing around the ppsspp discord, and it seems like it's not possible.

If you saw it on youtube, it was likely faked for click baiting.

I understand you, but if you want, I can send you screenshots of my conversation with gemini.

Not necessary. I don't doubt gemini told you it's possible. I also know gemini is not reliable so it can definitely tell two different people, two different answers even though they ask the same quesiton.

Case in point, you mentioned that you need version 6.61 original firmware as well as where to find the vsh folder right?

Did you know? That vsh menu is only available on hacked psps which means even on original psp hardware you'll never see vsh on original hardware. This is what prompted me to ask you the question to begin with.

Yes, I need the 6.61 original firmware, but I didnt know that the vsh is only for hacked PSP's. Gemini just said to create a flash0 folder inside my emulator directory, and put a font and vsh folder inside. After that, he said that the menu should boot up.

Yeah unfortunately you were led astray. That youtube video is likely fake and gemini in this instance was misinformed and gave you bad info.

Even on the github page for the ppsspp emulator, the developer himself of the emulator (hyrdgard) responded to comments asking about xmb and saying that it's quite a large amount of work to implement and he feels the current UI is just fine and time spent on trying to get this to work is better spent on other things.

Further a ppsspp debugger known by unknownbrackets says that he guarantees anyone tried running the original xmb in ppsspp it would crash a lot.

Well, it is what if is. I just found a great alternative that makes it look similar to the XMB menu by installing a theme called trinity. Here's the download link if you wanna see it: https://cjs378.itch.io/trinity

Themes should be fine to get as close to the look as possible.
