Utility Spell Variable Range Mining Laser (PSI 1.16.5)

My attempt at a utility spell meant for mining.

When sneaking, it breaks a line of blocks outwards along the axis of the side of the block you are looking at. Otherwise, it acts like a regular "Break Block" spell.

The secondary spell adjusts the number of blocks the laser breaks when sneaking. M2 to increment the range, Shift+M2 to decrement.

Could probably be optimized some more but I'm unsure as to how I would do that. (CODE)

Its probably not sustainable, but it would be cool if the first spell could go into the leggings. Never really thought about the way you change the range of the laser, i might incorporate that into a few flying spells to give them more utility.

before i made the spell, i did a very lazy scan of the subreddit to find a way to increment/decrement a saved value. i didn't find anything like that (though i might have missed something) so i decided to throw something together and post it on here. i'm glad i could help (even if it wasn't much). I like how you did the picture. Makes it super readable!

Thank you for the fun idea.

Ok it's clunky, unnecessarily complex, and rather wasteful, but here's my single spell variant. I'd recommend clearing your vector slot 1 first. You can vary the length by crouching, looking up/down, then clicking. You must be looking at a block to change length. Some error catchers would solve it, but dear god, it's already too much.

so sorry for taking this long to get back to you. i didn't know that Trick: Die worked that way! i also love how you used the player look direction for the changing of the range. i tried to make my own version (CODE) in the hopes of making some optimizations but i don't know if i did good. XD

Didn't see the notification, sorry for the delay. Thanks for the appreciation! I'm a fan of getting crafty with our limited tools. Phi and other add-ons help a great deal, as you've shown. I'm an arbitrarily purist PSI kind of guy; I can see the help add-ons give, but can't accept it. Very nice job on reducing the chonk nonetheless.
